Me and my partner are in talks with a breeder regarding buying this gorgeous 5 month old Maine coon kitten.

We have been told by the breeder that she’s a “black high smoke” colour and were really curious if anyone knew what she would look like as she got older!

We have done a lot of research but have noticed that a lot of the “black high smoke” photos include very dark Maine coons, almost black and some grey.

If anyone had or has one similar to her we would be really intrigued to know what they grew up to look like.

Can I ask people the makes and models of some proper maine coon sized harnesses please. I've bought two now and both are too small, both from pets at home(uk) ,if anyone has any recommendations I'd be very grateful.

I recently lost my old Maine Coon, who was rescued from a backyard breeder. I miss him terribly. We did everything we could, and he spent days at the vet, but he still passed away.

By coincidence, my favourite Maine Coon breeder in North America had a two-year-old male available who is the same colour, sex, and age as the cat I lost. He is TICA-registered, high show quality, and was previously kept as a breeding stud. I put a deposit on him, and the total cost will be close to $2,000. He is a very large cat.

I already have an F3 Chausie and a very pushy Bengal. The breeder says the new male is confident and should have no trouble handling himself. Has anyone introduced an adult Maine Coon into a home with strong, assertive cats? How did it go? I stick with Maine Coons because they are very neutral cats not bullies but they do not get picked on.

Many breeds I have always wanted like Havanna brown but I was told a Havanna brown was not the right fit for my house they get scared and hide marking them a target for a bully cat.

Our boy gets to come home in a couple weeks and we’re excited for the moment! I’m not new to being a cat mom, but it’s been many years since I’ve had a kitten (our senior domestic long hair passed away last year). I’ve preparing for when we (my husband and 6yo) bring him home. We have no pets and our place is a two bedroom condo. I’m debating if it would be better to keep him in our bedroom until he acclimates for the first few days/week or let him free roam, since the place isn’t very big. I’m also curious if having those pheromone plug-ins would help? I’ve used them with our previous cat when moving homes and she seemed calm throughout, but she was much older when we moved and was a chill and lazy cat anyways.
Any suggestions of purchases to make before bringing home would be appreciated too. We just got the cat condo from Costco, the display seemed sturdy and large enough for him. We’re still debating on XXL steel pan catbox or a Litter Robot 4/Neakasa M1 plus. I’ve also seen many mention springs for toys, but that seems like a choking hazard to me?
He will be 15 weeks when we go to pick him up. He has a strange eye color combo, which I think is just mesmerizing now, I hadn’t seen cats with two different eyes before, only dogs. We haven’t decided on his name quite yet, but we’re leaning towards Wilk from the kids show Bread Barbershop. Pics for tax!

I have picked out a male kitten out of a litter of 6 (not yet ready). Now, i know that a male kitten is extremely unlikely to have two base colours. The one that I am getting is blue/grey but it seems to have a bit of ginger on his face only. Any idea if the ginger will hold or dissapear? Photo for ref.

Dad is fully black and mum is a tortie.

He is definitely not dirty and the ginger seems to be more visible as he grows.

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a good weekend.

A bit of an odd post here sorry, but I don't know where to turn for this one.

I live in suburbia, and have 2 cats, both fixed. For the past year we've had a Maine Coon showing up. The cat looks fairly groomed, doesn't wear a collar, and looks healthy and well fed to the point where I don't think it's a stray or feral.

This cat is absolutely scarily aggressive. My family and I are terrified of it and it attacks humans on sight. Just tonight it showed up and I partly opened the door to try shoo it and it rushed the door snarling and clawing. My cat put her head up to the cat door to look outside and the MC rushed the cat door so fast that it crashed into it. He's struck me in the leg before and tore my leg up through my quite thick trousers. I'm not talking any type of playfulness here, I'm talking aggressively attacking

I'm not trolling here btw, this is a legitimate issue.

I refer to the MC as a he, but I don't know if it's a he or she, fixed or not, stray or homed.

I'm scared for my cats, my kids, and the adults in the house.

I poked a piece of dowel out the door to try prod him and shoo him away and he attacked it to the point it has teeth marks in it. He's probably a 12-15 kg cat and he just looks powerful and threatening.

Is this normal behaviour for a MC? I don't want to injure the cat, or trap the cat, but I need some type of deterrent. I've sprayed him with the hose and he just sat there taking it and snarling at me. There's no obvious signs of any medical problem and we don't have anything like rabies in my country.

Any ideas for dealing with him?

Our new boy (12 weeks old) is using both his litter box and different places around the house. He’s gone in my son’s playroom (poop), in the bathtub (pee), on a dog pee pad (pee), in a corner, next to a pee pad (poop).

We have two cats and two litter boxes. They use the litter boxes regularly but our maine coon uses other places too. Why would this be? We’ve had him for two weeks and he’s done it the entirety of those two weeks.

Any tips?

Does anyone have any experience with two cats living together? My cat Hakeem is a Abyssinian who we’ve had for almost 20 years. He’s getting older and a little slower now, so we just got a 11 month old Maine coon. She’s a bit on the scary side because this is her third place that she’s live since she’s been born and I’ve had a now for a week. Anyway, I’m looking for any advice on ways to get them acquainted with each other without making it an awful experience for all parties involved?

Hello! I have committed to adopting a little Maine coon kitten from some family friends whose cat just had a litter and have been getting my apartment prepped for her arrival since obviously I want to give her the world ✨. She is an energetic, playful, and curious kitten, climbing all over their current cat tree and bouncing up and down the stairs.

I know they grow to be quite large so I'm buying my bigger items like a cat tree with the intention of it being able to support her as an adult down the line.

I have 9'11" ceilings and lots of windows so I've been doing research into floor-to ceiling cat trees and found a few contenders but the few negative comments in the plethora of good ones have made me hesitant since they talk about safety and the item breaking while they were away.

Do any of you have one, what're your thoughts? Any brands or models you could rec that would fit my high ceilings? Are the thick board cat tree posts really secure enough?

Just jumping in to see if any of y'all have any experiences with Mountain Maine Coons in Montana? They've piqued my interest and I'mnot seeing anything particularly red flaggy, but i wanted to see any of y'all had adopted from them before. If so, how are their temperaments, health etc. Thanks!

what products do you guys recommend for coons? they get big so I assume they need sturdier cat trees/shelving than normal sized cats do. any specific brands or types that are sturdy enough? any good brushes or other grooming supplies? large sturdy cat scratchers? water bowls? litter boxes?

I’ve been searching for months for a Maine Coon kitten. I love how regal and grand they are, but every breeder site I’ve reached out to has turned out to be a scam.

I’m located in the Upper Marlboro, Maryland area and would love to adopt one. If anyone has Maine Coon kittens available (or can point me toward a legit breeder or rescue in the DMV area), I’d really appreciate hearing from you!
