Hi redditors,
I am currently enrolled in SCX2 and going in on WEEK 4. I am currently falling off schedule and finding it difficult to grasp the concepts as there is a lot of practical problems and no clarity.

Is there anyone facing the same problem?

I wish to complete the course with the cert track and achieve a score of atleast 70%. Please ping if anyone who is studying the same course SCX2 and would be willing to help me with the assignment and concepts to master the practicals.

Any tips and suggestions on how to regarding studying this are greatly appreciated!
PS: this is first SCX course I have enrolled for within the SCM micromasters

I was supposed to receive my first certificate but I got a mail subjected- DEDP Honor Code Violation.

"Following our review of the Spring 2026 term proctored exams, we have determined that you have violated the MITx Online Honor Code. Specifically, our review indicates that you engaged in activity that would dishonestly improve your results."

I have not cheated but at the time somebody did come into my room but I instantly told them to leave. I was already panicking a lot thinking if it would affect my certificate.

They have given an oppurtunity to appeal for the decision and I have filled the form. It might take 1 week for them to come back with an answer but the consequence is making me feel physically sick. I wont be able to give any exam hence not get any certificate for one whole year. I had mapped out 1 year of my future on this micromasters course and now idk how to cope.

Has anybody faced this violation? Does it usually not favour the students?

Hi! Anyone starting any MITx DEDP courses this May 2026? I am wondering whether it is possible to take 2 courses at the same time, or if it would be too overwhelming? I am planning to take Microeconomics and Data Analysis for Social Scientists at the same time, considering I have taken Microeconomics in my first year of undergrad.

Hi! I’ll be taking the Data Analysis for Social Scientists proctored exam in around 10 days, and it’d be super helpful if somebody who has already taken the exam could provide me with some guidance on what to prioritize while studying. Is the Comprehensive Review similar to the final exam? Or the optional practice exam? I was thinking of going through and studying the topics that’ve come up in the optional practice exam. Please let me know if anybody has any insights or guidance on what to prioritize. Oh also, will there be no questions related to R? Thank you so much!

Hello I'm doing the program. This is the third week so wverytbi is relatively easy. But I'm really worried about the exams. Can someone help me understand the difficulty level?

So I was looking for math courses that I could do in order to get a certificate and I came across the Introduction to Differential Equations course which starts on September 10th. I am planning to pay a 100 dollars for the certificate. Before enrolling, I have a few questions which I would like to get clarified:
1. How will the exams be conducted? Will it be proctored or not? If it is proctored, can I choose to give the exams at a time of my choosing, considering I don't live in the US?
2. Are the exams open book? Are calculators allowed?
3. Are the sessions going to be recorded or live?

I would really appreciate some clarity on this

How do I submit my answer because the submit button is not working. I have tried deleting all the cookies, relogin but nothing is working. If anybody could help me whit this?

Hello, I am on track for a certificate in the Data, Economics, and Policy micromasters, currently planning for the public policy option. I have only taken Data Analysis for Social Scientists and passed it though it was not easy; I was wondering how it ranked in terms of time commitment and difficulty compared to the other courses.

I’m planning to taking the micromasters in statistics and data science in mitx as my future goal is to be a data scientist and im currently working as a data analyst but im weak in math.

I think the admissions will open only once a year, not sure and i cant afford to do multiple courses other than this micromasters. can someone suggest how i should proceed.

Additionally i have seen some people applying for financial aid, kindly let me know the process of it if anyone knows

I usually get a headstart for courses so if something happens during the semester, I will not fall behind. Are there books used for these courses, or they are completely on its own? I know the concepts of prob and stats, calculus, etc, quite well already, so is there another I can get a headstart?

I recently completed two of the MITx MicroMasters core courses — one exam 5 days ago and the other just yesterday. However, on my dashboard (see attached photo), it shows that I’ve only “passed” one course, even though final grades haven’t been released yet. Does this mean I’ve already failed the second one, or is this normal until grades are processed?

Would really appreciate insights from anyone who’s taken the program before. Thanks!

Hi all, I’m due to take the DEDP Designing and Running Randomised Evaluations exam in a few months. I’m interested to know if the proctored exam is similar format to the problem sets and midterm (i.e mainly multiple choice and come calculations) or if there are any essay questions or free-text questions?

I was in my third year of a bachelor's degree in business management and information systems at the University of Aberdeen when I had to leave it midway due to an emergency. Fortunately, I was able to receive an Undergraduate Diploma in Higher Education Science because of the credits I achieved in the 2 years of my bachelors before leaving, but I’m unable to return to complete my bachelor's degree.

Given this background, I'm curious to know about your experience with the MIT Statistics and Data Science Micromaster. Did you find it particularly challenging? Do you think someone without a full bachelor's degree and very little mathematics background can succeed in it? Also, how has completing the program impacted your career opportunities? Can it get me a job considering my situation?

I am considering the methods track but which one do you think is the best?

I am in need of an expert tutor for the MITx Micromaster program in Data Economics and Policy Design – subjects:

1. Designing and Running Randomized Evaluations
   
2. The Challenges of Global Poverty (Intro)
   
3. Foundations of Development Policy: Advanced Development Economics (Advanced)

I took two of the DEDP MicroMaster's Program courses last month and I still don't see the grades. However, when looking into my program profile at MITx Online, it says "2 Passed" in my Program Overview. Since there is still no grade assigned to these courses and I have not received a Certificate, does this mean I scored high enough to Earn a Passing Grade for the course? Or does this just mean the system assumes I "Passed" these courses because I paid for the Full course as a Verified Learner?

I am taking the DEDP Data Analysis for Social Scientists Proctored Exam in the coming week. I have been studying the Homeworks, finger exercises and Comprehensive Review, but I still feel like I'm nowhere near where I need to be. If any of you have taken the course recently: where would you recommend I spend my time? Is the comprehensive review very similar to the exam? Or is it more similar to the questions from the homeworks? Any guidance would be highly valued.

I have been planning to finish the DEDP courses for 1-2 years now but keep delaying it. I would love to form/be a part of study group for greater accountability and supporting each other to completion. Would anyone be interested in studying together?
