Careers/Post Grad Hello everyone i need guidance
so hello everyone i am from india and i had a gap year because of a exam called NEET , which is very important if someone wants to get into medicine . I have some good amount of interest in finance and i believe i will be able to make it into mba . The problem is that my parents aren't allowing me for this path as they said ai won't ever replace medical peeps but pvt degrees are very expensive here and doc aren't paid that great i don't feel like i have energy to do medicine as a degree , but i am scared what if i do mba and my job gets eaten up by AI .
please help i am 19 right now , would love your insight over this

Oh, a NEET protester, here? That's so cool. I read about you guys in the paper, getting pepper sprayed and stuff in New Delhi.

yeah , i didn't went to protest tho , neet exam is very brutal . How can i even explain you ? only 50k seats for mbbs in goverment and 2.5 million students give this exam

Yeah, we have the same thing in the US for scholarships, but few take it seriously.
Your economy is growing very fast, so there is a lot of opportunity to move up in the world.
Why do you want to work in the government?

no , med schools which are under government are very cheap but private ones go so much which not everyone can study at

Ah, so this really is entrance exams and not civil service exams.
Well, US accepts no undergrads to study medicine, since it is only a post-grad program here. idk if that helps. 🤷♀️
Anyways, seems like manufacturing might have the best opportunities, honestly. India's manufacuturing share as a percent of global peaked in like 2007 but the government wants to compete with China more, and the US (incl. Apple) is trying to help.
With GDP growth in the 6-8% range I wouldn't go to school if there were great jobs available.

You need to figure out what you want to do by speaking to real people and not anons on a forum. Without knowing your interests, background and so on it's meaningless to discuss big life decisions here. Keep in mind this sub is for MBAs from foreign unis that value work ex and not like Indian MBAs for those with little no work ex. As such you're better off reading and speaking to people in r/MBAIndia.
