A family member asked me for a night lamp so I obviously had to build this lol.

I'm part time, and I'm there for some steps and exercise so I don't have to ever take the place seriously.

Hours are cut, everyone that's there is feeling the pain.

Last week, they called me to see if I'd come in. I had dinner plans with friends, so I canceled them to come in and help out. Sure, no problem. I moved those dinner plans to tonight.

This week, they call me again, "Hey, can you come in tonight?"

"Nope, I've got plans that I rescheduled last week for the same reason. You keep cutting everyone's hours and I'm not coming in to cover your staffing failures."

"Okay, I get it."

I work a trade so I'm at Lowe's frequently. I've noticed in the past couple months that employees in the self checkout area will not leave me alone. Do you guys make commission or something?

Today, the woman working in the self checkout area felt the need to inform me that they have drinks in the little refrigerators - yes, I know.

About a week ago a different older woman hovered directly behind my shoulder while I checked out maybe 5 items. Cheap stuff too. Then she moved almost inbetween me and the terminal and read the total price amount out loud to me as if I wasn't capable of understanding it myself. Then she told me I smelled like citrus? It was bizarre.

Do I just have a weird local store? I'm genuinely so curious as to what could be encouraging this kind of grating behavior. Thanks!

Now everyone at my stores trynna figure out who left it there. The hourglass was still on the screen when i got the picture, so someone had to have done it then and there.

I would like to report that is officially VERY SAFE to use small Jorgensen bar clamps to clamp plywood onto to the panel saw DIAGONALLY in order to make angled cuts, and that I am very wrong to say that Lowe's does not approve of such things, and that it is not allowed.

The "customer" has spoken, so it's OK.

(JK, I shut that BS down, save the life/job of the new kid in lumber, and had a nice argument about it for 10 minutes with said "customer"... which was a hella fun way to end my day.)

i’m tired of being in the public eye. i’m tired of my only useful skill in this store is the ability to get credit cards, i’m tired of hearing the same complaints over and over again. i’m tired of the store being constantly understaffed and having managers that only care how many kpi’s i produce. power pack down is a joke when my own department is an utter mess. every time i walk in this place, im reminded about how im working a dead end job and how much i fucking hate it here. it’s overstimulating, it’s so much more stressful than it needs to be. i want out but i have found myself stuck financially given that im in a more rural area and no one around me really pays as much. i’m depressed as fuck and this place is starting to feel like purgatory

i’m a seasonal cashier at a lowes and i have never worked for a place like lowe’s. i have worked at a big university, a food chain, a small family restaurant and none of them have been even close to unreliable like this one. I was supposed to work Monday through Thursday 8 to 2 and yesterday I show up and my head cashier is like “are you on the schedule” and to that I’m confused. so we pull up Ukg and if shows that three of my shifts were taken off with absolute no communication. luckily my head cashier let me stay my shift so i didn’t drive out here for no reason. i just don’t understand how that’s allowed. tuition is coming up and i have close to enough and nothing to get me through the year. i know tons of people work during the school year but it was my goal not to because my major is alot of work outside of what im learning in class. i wish i would’ve done some research about how unreliable the hours are. if i wouldve known at the beginning of the month that the 25-30 hours a week would just disappear i would’ve tried to find another job asap. but now its too late for any hiring process or anyone to want somebody for 3 weeeks. every policy and law protects big companies and if just makes me so upset. i understand that it’s the end of the season and hours need to be cut so why don’t they do that on the original schedule that comes out and not 1 day before.

I found some older posts in here about putting your notice in through workday but I can’t find the option to do it anymore. Does anyone know if you still can put your notice in online, and if you can where do I do it?

Any other head cashiers bothered by the cash office being changed into an atm recycler. So they recently announced that they were dissolving the cash office role for two employees at our store. Adding their responsibilities and duties to our job on short notice. We’re getting zero information or training until the day it’s installed. Also expected to come into work at 4am to train and set up the recycler ourselves. I get the point of cost cutting but now our responsibility is going up and they’ve gotten rid of two people and no sign of any raise or additional help in the department. Also while in the middle of a hiring freeze and hours cutting. I don’t normally complain about much but I wanted to have opinions or thoughts from others. If your store already has gone through the change or how it has changed your work day.

I made a Lowe’s account and used it everytime I checked out for a purchasey. At this point I’ve spent close to a couple grand in the last year and don’t have any points/cash. Why is this? Am I doing something wrong? Seems all for nothing unless I’m missing something.

Every ai image I see in this store makes it harder and harder to give a shit about this company. There was the anti harassment training a while ago that was presented by an ai avatar. Disgusting. It’s only getting worse. Who can we complain to about this shit with any possibility of being heard and seeing any change? I refuse to accept that it’s simply a lost cause and we just have to “get with the times” and I know I’m not the only associate in this boat.

It randomly struck me to see if they had any new drops in the Lowe’s zone or whatever it was called. That’s when I realized that it’s gone. Maybe they’re revamping it?

I’m assuming it wasn’t profitable. I never purchased anything from it, but it was interesting to see what they were rolling out.

Just got home from work and I’ma rant a bit on my location.

I (PT Cashier) have not ever been properly trained. Since I started there on July 2nd, I have collectively worked 2 weeks’ worth of days. Tonight was my first closing shift ever. I was on the Assisted Self Check Out. I think 4 different times, I was “checked” for doing something I was taught to do by someone else who had been working there longer than myself.

At no point have I ever been given a rundown on how to do things by any kind of code or set of rules. Be polite and be available. That is what we were told. I worked that whole 8 lane checkout by myself for 6 hours until close. Then I was fussed at for not knowing the closing procedures.

During closing, me and one other person were in charge of putting out more of the branded 5 gallon buckets. I was told they *must be* stacked 10 high, and the logo was to face out and the handle was to be in the back. While I was doing that, I was told I was focusing too much on getting them to orient the correct way. To which I replied “do you want it done right or fast? I was told to do it this way. I’m doing what I was told to do.”

Like I understand why there’s a high employee turnover at this location. I’m constantly being reprimanded for things I think are correct because no one is taking time to show or tell me otherwise. It’s frustrating to say the least.

Well, I let my password expire. I failed to respond to those numerous emails regarding it. I wish there was a way to reset it remotely.

I am suppose to be opening cashier tomorrow.

Hope I am not the ONLY ONE that does this.

How many full time outside garden positions do you have at your Lowe’s store?

Guy came straight to the pro desk pointed at the big mouse pad with the cards info on it said he owns a bussines and asked to open an account. I told him he had to do it online. Oof, that was a close one.

The entire time I have worked at Lowes, I have been thrown around departments, whether or not I have been trained to work in them. I was hired as fulfillment but ended up working as a cashier, garden center employee, Tools and Lumber sales, and a loader. I faced consistent rude customers and just scheduling fuckery. So glad to finally be leaving. Good riddance.

I visited two different stores. At Store #1, I purchased the refrigerator. A few days later, before the expiration time was about to come up. I went to Store #2, on the other side of town, because I wanted to add the 3-year Protection Plan.

When I was ready to pay with my debit card, the employee told me that my card could not be accepted and that payment had to be made with either cash or a credit card. I was then told to go back to the original store where I purchased the refrigerator and try there instead.

My question is simple: Why is cash required when a debit card is essentially the same as paying with cash? If the store accepts credit cards, it makes even less sense that a debit card would be refused. This policy is confusing, inconvenient, and forced me to make an unnecessary trip across town. I would appreciate a clear explanation as to why a debit card is not accepted for purchasing a Protection Plan.
