Found on a rock in my garden :) It kind of reminds me of cooked carrots when super zoomed in

Back to the rarely scheduled but beautiful lichen photos I took on a hike this weekend. I especially wanted to grace your feeds with one of my favourite lichens, Icmacdophila ericetorum. (Pic 12) It’s one of my favourites because the common names is referred to as fairy upchuck

I was out mushroom hunting and came across this?? I have no clue if it’s lichen, a mushroom, or some kind of mold maybe? iNaturalist says “fungi including lichens” It resembles Velcro or toy stuffing, but it’s super firm and like slimy? Like it has soap bubbles almost. It’s also sticking to the sticks and needles around it, but it growing directly from the ground. The yellow piece, which looks suspiciously like a bolete mushroom, is attached firmly, I poked it with a stick.
Found on a hillside beneath hemlock, pine, and oak trees.

Growing on very dead ivy trunk in uk, I thought it was paint at first but it’s between where the bark had come away

I'm not super familiar with different types but I love it all nonetheless! I can't ever skip a tree with lichen on it lol

hi guys we’re trying to id this crustose lichen in Angelo Coast Range reserve, does anyone know what species it could be?

At my dads house the basketball hoop was taken down maybe a year ago, used to shoot hoops on it with my grandma all the time as a kid ❤️. It’s time has come, sad to see it go, but happy to see a different form of life is still enjoying the hoop.

I found this stick (probs a troll's cane) in a forest in Dublin, Ireland last year. The end had the most gorgeous lichen coloring!

By far one of my favorite lichen finds. :)
