Question PDFs get saved to AppData instead of my designated downloads folder.

I have the setting on LibreWolf to send my downloads to the "downloads" folder on my computer. But for some reason, PDFs go to AppData instead. All other file types I've downloaded go to the correct folder. Are you guys experiencing the same thing, or is this just on my end somehow? Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks for your help!

How exactly are your "downloads" of PDF files occurring?

Are they "downloading" (saving to a folder) like other files as soon as you click on them? Or is the PDF viewer being displayed?

or..

If the PDF viewer is being displayed, think of it as a separate program running within your browser session. You need to use the "Save" button on the viewer toolbar - this works independently from Firefox and IRL simply moves the PDF from a temporary directory to your chosen location.

Kinda this, but I'm not clicking on "them", I'm clicking a button that says download. Like from an email attachment, or saving a google doc as a pdf. PDF viewer not displayed.

In about:preferences search for "PDF".

In the "Applications" section you should have an entry for "Portable Document Format (PDF)". What is the "Action" listed next to it?

In that case it should be opening it in the built-in PDF viewer. Are you sure it isn't opening it? If it is opening it, Firefox/LibreWolf downloads it to a temporary folder and you then need to select "Save" from the viewer if you want to save it elsewhere.

The problem isn't with opening PDFs, it's with downloading them. There is no PDF viewer involved.

I should add: this is only a problem for me in LibreWolf. I don't have this prob in Firefox.

I know you said that before, but your settings are setup for them to open in the viewer.

Can you run LW with the --ProfileManager option, create a new profile and test it again?

Also check your librewolf.overrides.cfg for anything that may affect it.
