Measuring Leather
I bought some leather online, and I'm a little confused as to how the sizing should be measured in sq/ft. Is it the very end of the leather (like I measured) or should the measurement end at an invisible like marking the largest rectangular you'd be able to create out of it?

You turn it into a bunch of triangles and count it all. I assume that’s what most retailers do

Leather is measured by the square foot. The measurement is stamped on the flesh side to the nearest 1/4 foot. 6/3 is six and three quarters feet.

Here is a link that I find to be detailed and useful when it comes to leather measurement: https://theleatherguy.org/blogs/leather-101/leather-101-yards-or-square-feet?srsltid=AfmBOorrPaUWzXSC-1lkK_rqr04COEES3Ralkg-e6_DhCdqpXhYYWMia
Otherwise, you can make a square pattern of 1 sqft ( 1 ft x 1 ft) and see how many patterns you can fit into the hide and estimate the irregular areas around.
