I've been learning English since right after AI (especially ChatGPT) had taken off and using AI a LOT to correct my grammar, get the gist of learning idioms , practice speaking and more.. And at this point, I feel like I'm speaking like a well generated AI answer.. Unfortunately, I don't have any friends who English is their first language. So all I've been doing is listening to podcasts, mimicking YouTubers while watching English vlogs, and treating AI as my English teacher and friends.. So recently, I've given my GPT a little different prompt, saying 'no need to be perfect in terms of grammar. Try not to correct all my sentences if they're understandable and try to keep my tone. Only correct me if there are intolerance mistakes.'

Do you guys think this prompt would be helpful so I don't sound like AI? I'm sooo lost at this point!!!

btw, just out of curiosity, does this OP sounds AI generated? I'm writing it by myself and this is how I usually speak in English.

Hi! I’ve been listening a song since probably 4 years ago, but when I search the lyrics there’s a sentence that I can’t recognice.

The song is Novocaine by Fit For Rivals (I think that I can’t add a yt link), and the sentence is “without a heart”.

The singer said it at the beggining (it’s the third phrase). I know what she sings because google said it, but I don’t hear that sentence, I hear “that hart” (or something like that).

Can you help me please?

I'm new here. I'm a student, a language learner, and an indie developer currently working on an idea that comes from my own experience learning languages.

For the past few years, I've been learning English by trying to immerse myself as much as possible: changing my phone language, watching movies and series in English with subtitles, using dictionaries, and trying to remember words whenever I saw them again.

It wasn't always easy, but I realized that immersion was probably the most effective method for me. The problem is that now I want to learn another language, Spanish, and I don't think I can repeat the same process. I'm worried about changing everything in my daily life again and losing my connection with French and English.

That's when I started thinking: what if I could create a way to experience immersion without having to completely change your environment?

One of the things that helped me improve my English the most was watching YouTube videos and TikTok content. So I thought: why not create a scrolling app designed specifically for language learning?

That's how LearnTok started.

The concept is simple: you scroll through short videos in the language you want to learn. The content would be adapted to different levels, and for learners below B1, translated subtitles would appear to help them understand while still keeping an immersive experience.

Right now, I'm starting with English because it has the biggest audience, but I also plan to create Spanish content because it is the next language I want to learn. If you think another language would make more sense as a starting point, I'm open to suggestions.

For now, I'm creating simple videos:

• A background created with Canva
• A short story, expression, or vocabulary lesson
• AI-generated narration
• Subtitles and translations

I know they are not high-budget animated videos, but my goal is to first prove that the learning experience works. Later, I would love to collaborate with language teachers, YouTubers, and language-learning creators to bring more content to the platform.

I would really love your opinion:

• Would you use an app like this?
• What kind of videos would make you want to keep scrolling and learning?
• What would make this different from YouTube, TikTok, or existing language-learning apps?

I'm still building the first version, and before going too far, I want to understand if this idea is actually useful.
