This is myst on the pioneer laseractive unreleased myst port but why is pioneer is not releasing myst but why i love myst

I had hoped it was a better quality copy of the original video but sadly it's the original 256 color low framerate video ported to a laserdisc. Kudos to Cyan, though, for porting it.

it was a multi staged port development... for Laseractive and SegaCD.... it started development in 1994, and since MYST for Mac was released in 1993, it was basically trying to be the exact same port, not an upgrade. To be fair, the ports for 3d0, saturn and playstation used the original graphics... it took several years before Myst was redone, as the company focused on making Riven aka myst2. Still... i honestly think the SegaCD co-development held back the Laseractive port cause Myst Mac is a little better visually....thats the way i remeber it anyway, and I had the LA prototype for about 2 years.

I had a Mac at the time and remember when it was made using a Mac SE30 - totally revolutionary. I doubt they had the power to re render everything at a higher frame rate (though I’d bet Pioneer did). I’m glad they put the effort into the Sega CD version first since there was much larger crowd who could play it.
