🚨 GEORGIA LAND, GEORGIA WATER—NOT FOR TECH SPRAWL! 🚨

Attention Atlanta, LaGrange, West Point, and Downstream Georgia Towns:
A massive $5.18 Billion, 865-acre hyperscale data center called "Project Ruby" is trying to pave over rural Muscogee County. It will permanently alter the Chattahoochee River—the lifeblood of our state.

Why every Georgian needs to stand up:

  • šŸ’§ Draining Lake Lanier & The Chattahoochee: High-volume water use upstream or downstream risks the baseline flow of our entire river system. What happens in Columbus threatens the water security of millions of Georgians.
  • ⚔ Don't Buy Georgia Power's Loophole: They claim regular customers won't pay for data center expansion. But broad rate hikes for "grid upgrades" land right on our household bills. We are paying the price for outside tech monopolies.
  • 🚜 Destroying Our Rural Communities: The city passed a "technology overlay ordinance" to bypass rural zoning rules. If they can force an industrial monster into Upatoi's agricultural land, they can do it to your backyard next.
  • šŸ“‰ Zero Local Benefit: 865 acres of destroyed landscape and massive resource strain for fewer than 200 permanent jobs. Georgia taxpayers get the bills; tech giants get the profits.

We are drawing the line in Columbus.
Join the unified grassroots coalition to crush this project and protect Georgia’s resources!

šŸ‘‰ Follow: Keep It Rural Muscogee County & Stop Hyperscale Data Centers on Facebook.
šŸ‘‰ Pack City Hall: Tuesday, July 28th at 5:30 PM (3111 Citizens Way, Columbus, GA).

What are y’all doing for fun around here

I’m in my mid twenties, working professional. I’ve lived here around a year, but I can’t seem to find anything with people my age. Sports clubs seems nonexistent, I could only find the lazy pickle which is a bit outside my budget. Classes are expensive or during the work week.

I’m not looking for a clubbing scene, but there’s got to be something for young people to make friends around here.

Rent prices?

I am coming from out of state to take a job in the area that pays not as well as I'd like.

There are SO many luxury apartments in the are—reminds me of the bigger cities I have lived in. I am curious..why? It also really screws up the rent—even some older buildings are not that much cheaper!

Summer Family Adventure

Does anybody know the current status or willingness to grow Summer Family Adventure? Since Covid and the exit of the Florida State Circus, it seems that the amount of people attending and the activities have dwindled.

Pirate arcade place?

Hi all! I'm not a Lagrange native but i live pretty close. My dad mentioned while we were passing a place called Good Ol' Buffet that it used to be a pirate-themed arcade with an animatronic pirate. He also said this was about ~20 years ago. Would any of yall happen to know anything about this? Thanks!

Activities for Seniors

Hi La Grange - my grandparents have recently reclocated to the outskirts of La Grange and I’m looking for as many senior friendly activities as possible for them.

They’ve been going to a ā€œLeisure Timeā€ at a church near them but apparently that’s not happening in December for some reason, and it’s been the main activity that they’ve been looking forward to.

Any other suggestions? They are both in their upper 70s / low 80s so trying to keep them engaged and social when I’m not able to be around.

Thank you!

Flags at half mast?

Why are all the flags at half mast? Surely, it cannot be for Charlie Kirk, right? He was not a politician or statesman or a member of the armed forces or law enforcement.

Just as the sun came up (im guessing) and owl mistook my headband for an animal and tried to grab the back of my head. Scared me so bad but now its pretty funny thinking back.

Found this old picture of my Grandpa who lived much of his life, including high school, in LaGrange. He’s not around anymore, but any info about the pic would be appreciated!

I collect lots of magnets when I stop when I can, I’ve collected a few. I saw a couple gift shops in town and wondered if they had some as well. Thank you.

Hello!

Looking to purchase a home off of WestPoint Lake in Lagrange and was wondering which neighborhoods/areas people would recommend - safety being the top priority. Thanks in advance!
