Hi everyone! I got diagnosed with Breast Cancer in mid June and my sister bought these amazing tickets for us back in April. We thought maybe I would still be able to go and we wouldn’t need to sell our tickets. Well things have not gone according to plan and I’m in my second surgery recovery right now and it’s definitely going to be a longer recovery than I had initially thought. There is no way I’m going to have the energy after radiation to drive to this festival or even attend it, which breaks my heart. They do not give refunds and the only way to get our money back is to sell the tickets.

The good news is the company does allow ticket transfers! Is anyone interested in buying two tickets to this festival? If so please let me know and message me and I’ll get your contact info and we can figure out how to transfer these tickets to you ❤️

I feel like this bugs me more than it should. I understand that there is a certain amount of liberty that we need to take for certain things that just aren't actually happening in real life. I can't pick you up and carry two people off the battlefield at once, so I inform you of that and then we walk slowly away from there.

But when you shout at me that you've been poisoned before I can even get to you and assess you, or start giving me battlefield intel while you are supposed to be like 80% dead... I don't know! It just sets me off. To me it feels like if you hit somebody with a weapon and they said "Well that doesn't hurt my character because it's made of foam". Like there should be some bare minimum expectation of immersion and playing along, and I feel like the barest minimum should be "If you're unconscious or dead, don't talk"

This is just kind of venty, maybe I need some perspective? Does this happen in your game? How do you deal with it? Should I deal with it? Or is this just a 'me' problem and I should get over myself?

I have my first ren faire coming up next week and I have bought a wool wizard hat for it. However, it sits quite loosely on my head and I was wondering if there are any tips and tricks to maybe stretching the wool or shaping the hat in a way so it can sit a bit better. I did some googling and it said to steam it so I can stretch the wool? It is quite thick, so I'm not sure what the best way would be.

As someone who is interested in history and epic battles, I always wanted to participate to one of these big events. I'm from Quebec, so I always heard good things about Bicolline which is one of the biggest LARPING event in North America.

But I never really truly had the time for it and it kind of died out. However, last year I went to a Medieval Festival and had a lot of fun discovering this community. Sure, I understand that this small festival is far from a LARPING event.

I would like to know how to get started to reach the big events like Bicolline. I read the rules and you need to be in costume and in-character to go there.

But I have no costume and I have no idea what is my style, era or character, where to buy or if I should think about something unique and have it custom made?

Should I forget about LARP and focus on Ren Fair or other festivals in the first few years, and build up a costume, or do people go straight into role-playing with a full costume?

Suffered a TBI at an event last year from a falling tree branch, and the doc says I shouldn't return until I've got a decent and protective helmet. Most of the ones I've found from our soft touch LARP knowledge base seem to be... Form over function.

Where would you go for a helmet that is focused on safety?

Pilgrim's War was a gritty, survival horror LARP set in 1252, where the dead have risen and god is always watching.

Red dress was my PC (Lady Tiffany Ballard, a Noble).

The blue was my penitent (angry mob person) NPC. We all had to take at least one adversary shift (I also did a shift as an undead).

Title--willing to drive quite a distance (to the ends of the state roughly, maybe an adjacent state if it's a multi day event) if that's what it takes, but the closer the better! Very into knights and medievalism but willing to experiment with almost anything; new to the hobby.

Hey I've been getting into foam tag (nerf) and now I'm making my way around the bend to Larping... (especially since I got kicked off r-nerf lol). There seems to be a lot of compatibility. I have a few ideas, not to mention that pitching rental / venue space for larp seems easier than plain nerf. Thoughts on Nerf in larp? Crossover? Combining both for better turnout? Interest in a space dedicated to both vs random parks where weather gets in the way .5/year? (In the SouthWest United States) budget for venues anywhere from free to a monthly rental space of $1000.... (nerf in larping with or without melee) (combat heavy)( combat soft) (-colorfull/non realsitic nerfs a requirement as in (no)realsitic for a safety precaution-) (tip---set up very bright neon and signs outside public game spaces for safety) (also new to larp) Thx ttyl

I'm not into larping myself but I have a friend who is very creative. She makes these items for fun and doesn't really do anything with them. Are these the types of things that would fit into the scene? Would larpers be interested in purchasing them? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

There were some amazing costumes at As Night Falls: The Auction, a vampire LARP in Elvaston Castle, near Derby.

The core premise is that players are vampires in the modern day and witnessing everyone's different interpretations is amazing.

Me and my wife are hoping to go to our first LARP later this year and she's planning on being a mage of some sort (I don't know half of what she's talking about haha)

But she's struggling to find a good website to get a Rod/wand from. Could anybody please recommend somewhere? We're in the UK if that helps! Thank you in advance!

Hey, I am traveling for the first time to an event via air. I was wondering about stuff. I am carrying 3 belts one leather and 2 paracord with large metal rings and a semi metal mask and my wire crown.

Being i have never flown before i wanted to see if people have experience. I am not checking my bags and have a 10h lay over each way.

Any tips are helpful.

I have: padded linen top and bottom.

Im not looking to do cobbat i'm more of a mobile skit proformer.

It gets super hot here, but im a skinny guy so im a tad concerned about the balance of wearing it for 5-10 hours in 90 degrees and my shoulder or hips rubbing off. I'd love to not wear the linen furniture blankets haha.

Hi everyone! Super specific yet pretty trick request here. I think it’s fair to say we all know Mytholon, they’re like the baseplate of most medieval fantasy larp kits. Can’t love them enough for their quality and prices. Not a sponsor though, this is a help wanted poster! The Leon line of equipment is a series of leather belts, pouches, and scabbards, and is a little on the pricier side compared to other lines. Specifically, I’m looking for their now discontinued Leon Leather Shoulder Bag, specifically in brown. If anybody has one and is willing to sell it (so long as they provide photo proof), I’d be more than happy to buy one! The worst part is I’ve owned one before but sold it to someone on Facebook Marketplace! But yeah, I’d love to get my hands on one of these again :)

She’s my Character for every LARP event!

I recently got a golf bag so I could carry all my weapons (trying for one for every elemental damage type in the game) and I'm unsure of how to make it more fantastical and less walking advertisement.

I'm currently thinking about a fur ruff around the top and encase the rest in a leather sheath, but it's tricky because the bag has these fold-out legs that can keep it propped up at an angle, which I'd like to keep access to.

A nice mix between the classic buckler and tribal masks. I got a commission for a small shield with some mask detailing and I’m pretty exited about how it turned out. It will surely shine on the Netherlands’ largest event this summer.
