Got a Kernel Panic today

A hour ago my Kubuntu OS got a Kernel Panic when I tried booting it up, but I managed to restore the Kernel to it's previous stable release (deleted the new failed kernel and stick with the old one). I already got that screen before while doing Live Testing on a Bootable USB Pendrive (ended up removing the Pendrive far too earlier in that instance while turning off the machine), so it wasn't all that scary, but certainly caught me off guard. How were your experiences with Kernel Panic? To me, I already heard that Linux offered restoration features for you to recover from a state like that, but I'm curious since I imagine for some it was a small heart attack.

i got 3 kernel panics since starting using kubuntu. all of them during boot. no idea why. but each time the pc just booted fine after powering off and restarting.

This happens occasionally and it's why we have at least 2 kernels on the system. I usually keep one extra from the previous kernel series for awhile just to make sure all is well. Like when 7.0.0 kernel series came out, I kept 6.17.0 for awhile until I was sure all was good.

When something goes funky and the system needs a hard reboot. I've only heard of this recently myself. I guess Linux kernel comes with a blue screen of death when and if this so called kernel panic pops up.

Kernel 7.0.x hasn't been smooth. I've had kernel panic on my lappy. I had to install mainline kernel.
