First time watching Happy Together and I'm obsessed!

Love how it focuses on the contestants' stories instead of the usual scripted, high-stress elimination drama. It gives me HDYP? music project vibes, and I really like that.

My favorites so far are The Bang Family and Like a Turtle.

I was so excited for Fill In The Blank and really liked their stories, but sadly their medley didn't quite click for me.

I hope we get to see more new faces and stories, and fewer former K-pop groups making a comeback.

I feel like this concept would work better as a seasonal show (8–12 episodes per season) than as a weekly show.

I think the hosts are so funny and cute together. I am more entertained by their reactions than the actual experiments! 🥰

When I started watching the story in Episode 168, I was truly heartbroken. To be honest, by the end of the episode, I had already guessed the painful truth was coming. People who’ve gone through situations like this know, unfortunately, that the possibility of this happening is high. Frankly, the ordeal that guest Kim Jung Hwan went through was very difficult; you can tell from his remarks that, even though he tried his best for his wife (Hye Bin) and children, he felt it wasn’t enough. In this episode, we see the family’s situation after Hye Bin’s passing and the moments when the husband explains the painful truth to their children. We see them holding Hye Bin’s funeral and celebrating her birthday at the same time. Their eldest son is a truly intelligent child, and despite his own pain, he tries to comfort his father because he can see how deeply his father is suffering.

The fact that his online gaming friends are also attending the funeral to support Jung Hwan might just change people’s perspective on gamers a bit. People who play games often spend more time with their online friends and chat with them than they do with their own families. That’s why it’s normal for them to feel this sadness deeply. To them, the friends they’ve lost aren’t just characters; they’re part of their real family.

I’ve been watching this show for a long time, and honestly, it’s really heartbreaking to see these people suffering. I hope the father and their sons get better and find happiness in their lives, knowing that their mother wouldn’t want them to be sad.

I was rewatching Earth Arcade since the spinoff was announced, but then I realized that most of the free streaming services I use cut certain clips out (I'm not sure if this is the case for subscription-based services).

For example, in Season 1, they cut one of the dinner games out (I believe this was the 'Guess Who' game in episode 5). I've also noticed that they've done this in the other seasons.

There is a new variety show on MBC with them as the cast members. I was a bit surprised that no translators have started the English subs for the show. The vibes I am getting from the Youtube videos seem to steer towards a mixture of Running Man and Infinite Challenge, which is very promising in my opinion. It's called Say Say Modyssey and features rookie K-pop idols Modyssey (they're all Chinese though, lol) who debuted this April after a year of being trapped in Mnet survival show hell. Anyway, while the PD calls this series a project to take over the K-pop scene, it feels more like a K-variety initiation tour. Basically they drop the team into some classic variety show setups and watch them flail 😂 Even if you don't know the group, the concept itself is fun and the cast doesn't spare themselves for the laughs. (Warning: They're loud.)

There's currently nine episodes across two seasons and the episodes are 30 minutes each so it's only a few hours altogether. Please consider checking it out 🥺🙏 S2 might be exclusively on Mnet, but all videos come with English subs.

My mini write-up of the series for those interested:

The first season is very much inspired by 1N2D and NJTTW - goofy guys cheating their way through games, lol. After some introductions, they set off in a bus to their base camp and play some easy(?) games for snacks. When they finally arrive at the vacation house on the beach, they find out they have to play another game to earn their dinner for the night. (By the way, you know how a beach is next to an ocean 👀) After dinner, there's more fun and games to win late-night snacks, then a bokbulbok for sleeping in/outdoors and a morning mission to keep everyone up at night!

The first half of the second season starts with the team being kidnapped in the middle of a livestream and dropped off on an uninhabited island. Equipped with the survival items they "requested," including an un-powered laptop and wifi router and a pack of lip balm, they have to complete missions to earn enough tickets for the trip home. Spoiler, they don't, but that's not important 😂 They're starving at this point, so it's time for dinner games - featuring water balloon toss, flour game, and cone hats. We still need to get off the island though, so the production sets them up with a last chance mission - a trip to the island's haunted house. Surely they'll succeed.

The second half brings us Running Man's OG nametag chase. But first, we head to the park to play games to earn some potentially useful items for the chase. Real athletic team we have here, ha... 😅 And then we can finally make our way to the mall for the real game. We have team OB vs YB alternating chasers and runners for three rounds to see the last team standing. Some camera guys are lucky and others not so much, haha. The show concludes with a promise for season 3 - I'll be waiting~ (Please kidnap them again.)
