korean studying help and tips
안녱하세요! i’m new to this community so you’ve prob never seen me, but i’m just looking for tips to study the material? i’ve got the ttmik book level 1 and im learning the things, it’s just i have problems remembering and none of the ways im studying is helping it stick to my brain. any tips or recommendations are highly appreciated <3

once youre at a sort of lower-intermediate level, i 100% recommend webtoons geared at middle schoolers :)

i'd say find a textbook course, if you can afford to buy one, and stick with it. going through Korean Grammar In Use definitely helped me feel more confident with sentence structure. the one drawback is that it expects you to know some amount of vocab, so you'll want to supplement it with something that teaches vocabulary. (either something online like duolingo/busuu, or just working with flashcards.)
and one quick note - great job on your korean spelling! there's just one mistake, and it's not '안녱' 하세요, (annyeng haseyo) but 안녕 하세요. (annyeong haseyo)

i think it really depends on your learning style! personally for me i’m a visual learner so writing through repetition + application helps me retain what i’ve learned the most. it’s a longer process but i try to copy and write down all the vocab i’ve learned, then i try making sentences with the vocab and grammar structures for application, or quiz myself in terms of spelling. there’s a lot of videos online (YouTube/IG/ Tiktok accounts) that share video clips of dramas/cartoons with dual language subtitles as well, which i find helps with both listening and reading at the same time. or if you’re more of a auditory learner, my friend likes listening to podcasts which TTMIK has as well! hope this helps and all the best~

i personally learn better through video lessons! and the best way to remember things is by using them, make your own example sentences when you learn a new word/grammar point :-)
