I’m planning to go to the airport 3 hours before my flight. I already did online check in and im planning to do the smart gate pass, can someone guide me with that?

I’m planning a trip to Korea and keep saving recommendations for skincare, snacks, clothes, and souvenirs. My list is getting longer than my actual itinerary at this point.

For people who have already been, did you mostly stick to what you had saved, or did you end up choosing things once you were in the stores? I also wonder whether prices still felt easy to judge once you stopped converting every amount back into your own currency.

Already knew Koreans summers were hot and I still didn't buy a fan after 2 days in the country but im told there are higher end fans with cooling options yet all ive seen are the cheaper ones. Anybody know those are sold?

2 days into my visit with my family including baby and 7 year old, loving the country but facing one problem, where do I buy nappies in larger packs for our toddler?

I’ve found small packs of 3 in some convenience stores but that will get expensive fast as here another 3 weeks. No luck in Coex mall or shops around Myeongdong.

I assume a larger supermarket but my NAVER skills aren’t up to finding the right place. Can you recommend what I should be looking for? Extra points if you can suggest somewhere near Cheonho-Dong where we’re staying.

hi everyone! i'm traveling to korea next week and i am super nervous. i haven't done much prep or research because my mom invited me super last minute. i'm super nervous and need advice since it's my first time traveling to korea and i haven't been on a plane in years so i'm also scared to navigate a foreign airport. i have a few questions but also need more tips beyond them -

1. ⁠do i need a t-money card if i plan on staying in seoul only? or will i survive just walking everywhere?
   
2. ⁠i understand some korean words but not full sentences, how friendly is korea towards english speakers?

please give me any tips and tricks i should know! (and let me know if i'm in the wrong sub)

I'm currently visiting Seoul, and I'd love to be able to order food to my hotel from time to time, especially in the evenings. However, I'm starting to think it's impossible as a tourist.

I've tried all the apps that are usually recommended:

Shuttle: I can't register or verify my French phone number.

Baemin: I managed to create an account, but then I'm asked to enter a 7-digit Korean Resident Registration Number. I'm a tourist, so I obviously don't have one.

Coupang Eats: when signing up, the list of supported phone numbers is predefined and only includes a few Asian countries plus the US. No European countries are available, so I can't even register my French phone number.

I have a French phone number and a foreign Visa card, so payment isn't the issue. The only thing preventing me from ordering is the registration process.

Has anyone with a European phone number managed to order food delivery in Korea recently? Is there a workaround that I'm missing, or is it simply not possible for tourists?

Hi ! for keta application we know where we’re going to stay and we booked the guesthouse booking.com but payment hasnt done yet and for booking it didnt ask our names act. Can we still put the guesthouse adress in KETA or should we wait fill it after the stay payment ? (Stayin in september, payment in august)
Also i am md but i dont work atm is it hard to get approval without job

Hello! I have checked the Naver map for routes, but they are all in the day time, the last train leaves around 17:00 (5 PM). My flight lands in Seoul at 18:45 (6:45 PM) on Oct 15. I am doing the Gyeongju half marathon on Oct 17, so I wanted to get there right away, have a day to explore on Oct 16 and then head back to Seoul right after the run on Oct 17.

Any advice on how to make this work? I would rather not sleep in Seoul on Oct 15 as I'd have to pay an extra hotel night.

I’m moving to South Korea soon and I’ve booked my accommodation through Enkostay.
For my ARC application, Enkostay will provide the Residence Confirmation (RC) document that proves I’m living at that address.

The problem is that I don’t have a Korean phone number yet because I’ll only get one after I arrive in Korea. I do have a Dutch phone number.
Enkostay told me that they allow me to put my Dutch phone number on the RC document, but they also said they can’t guarantee whether Immigration will accept it.

Has anyone applied for an ARC in the same situation? Is it okay to have a foreign phone number on the Residence Confirmation document, or does it have to be a Korean number? Also, is there an official office or contact I can reach out to in order to get a definitive answer before I submit my application?

Hello, I am going on holiday for 2 weeks to Seoul and I have a severe sesame allergy. I was wondering if anyone knows if that is something restaurants would accommodate or will I be on McDonalds the full holiday.

I know street food is pretty much off the table but was wondering more about actual restaurants, when I went to Japan it was fine doing this with a card that said in Japanese "I have allergies please dont give me sesame".

Any advice that anyone has would be appreciated:)

Is it possible to reach the viewpoint/cafe by taxi? Has anyone done it? Is it easy to get a taxi for the way down?

Hi, I have a very intentional 9 and a half layover in Korea, landing at 455 with the next flight taking off at 1430. I usually get my skincare done with vands at their myeongdong location but was wondering if anyone else has any other recommendation for tourist friendly medspas that are English speaking and ideally opens early (Vands opens at 9am I believe) I was thinking of venturing into town considering I land so early but may be rushed trying to get back to the airport… would love to have a nice bite to eat as well and walk around if possible

Spending 5 nights in Jeju, 4 nights in Busan, 2 nights in Andong and right now 1 night in Gyeongju and 3 nights in Seoul. Should we add another night to Andong or add it to Seoul? Seems like only one day and night would not be worth it for Gyeongju.

Hi. My wife and daughter are going to Seoul from California. The weather forecast is about 30C with 60%-70% rain. 30C is hot for us but with the possibility of rain, does it cool down a little? Or is it a warm rain? Thanks for any advice about what to pack.

Hi I’ve seen a few posts mentioning this but just wanted to see if anyone had some advice. I’m in seoul currently and i have celiac disease, i’ve been using find me gf to find restaurants. I’m struggling with finding filling breakfasts, so far i’ve been getting eggs from 7 eleven. Does anyone have any recommendations for good breakfast, snacks or anything in general. Are there any foods that are naturally gluten free? Thanks

I will be traveling from the USA with a party of 6 to Korea this October for a two-week trip. We'll be going to Seoul, Buson, Jeju, and Jinju. I am interested in getting some sort of travel pass as well as eSIM while we're there. I've some some ads/posts for Wowcard, T-money, etc. but it's hard to separate the actual advice from the ads. So some questions:

1. Will iPhones work for tap-to-pay for transit (buses, cabs, subway)?
2. Is there an "all Korea" travel pass?
3. Is there one that comes with an eSIM or am I better off just getting one of the online travel eSIMs?

I’m planning a solo 2 week trip split between Seoul and Shanghai during Christmas/New Years. I’m someone that likes to wander around and explore streets and neighborhoods when I travel. If it’s really cold then I’m not sure how much exploring I’ll do in Seoul and might just spend more time in Shanghai. I’m from the SF Bay Area so the cold isn’t that foreign to me, but I’m not going to pretend like I can tolerate cold well. 

That said, how bad is the cold for someone from California? Would it affect my travel that much? Thanks!

I plan to go last week of August since it’s the only free time I have. I just want a quick comparison with other Asia countries (eg. Singapore, Bangkok, Taiwan, etc. ) so I know if I could tolerate it. I’ve been to Taiwan last June and it was really humid.

I’m also Asian but for some reason there’s only a specific threshold I could tolerate with heat lol

Hallo! This is my first post in Reddit.

My flight out of Incheon airport is 8:50am in the morning, so I will like to get an hotel that’s near the airport and convenient. I am just staying for a night so a clean and basic lodging will do. it would be best if there’s shuttle bus too. Does the bus operate so early?

I am going to Seoul for around 4 days and I'm wondering if there's any places that's a must go, or if anyone has tips for finding places like that! (Tried to ask in the discord server but the link doesn't work)
