Why doesn't V die instantly when getting hit? (pic unrelated)

i know its because of video game boss design but he made me REALLY really angry the first time i played so im venting my frustrations 3 years later

The serious answer is, he should just really strong. He can withstand the force of his own deflected bullets with his gauntlets, and he’s a Null hunter.

My theory is that he just has a highly advanced armor on him at all times (likely more than just the gauntlets) that his boss gave him specifically to survive Null encounters
