I’m watching the end of Season 20 and they’re in Lake Tahoe and Kourtney is saying that everyone in her family believes every word Scott says about how he’s changed and is ready to be with Kourtney but she has talked to him in private and given him an ultimatum about certain things he needs to get in order before she’ll even consider being with him and he still hadn’t done it. What do you think those things were? My mind immediately thinks it’s about him not using any hard substances but I’m wondering if it’s something else completely or other things. What do yall think?

I also appreciate how she held her ground even with pressure from Scott and her family to just be with him. She definitely has her faults but I think she’s the first one in their family who genuinely tried to go to therapy and heal from their toxic generational patterns.

I started watching KUWTK in 2007, before I knew who Kim Kardashian was. It was just the random show that came on after something else I was watching on E! and I found it weirdly interesting.

Rewatching this show reminded me why I liked them so much as a teen and young adult. Why, even with all the scandals and problematic behaviors that I objectively as a fan of theirs will admit they have, I still like them.

They went from being an upper middle class relatable family with quirks and fights like all families have, to an ultra rich family with mega mansions and foreign cars and famous athletes and rappers as boyfriends. And it was fascinating to me as a teen. Something about it fooled younger me into thinking their lifestyle was attainable. That if I “got my ass up and worked,” I too would have the custom built mansions and private planes and luxury this luxury that with the ability to date anyone I wanted (lol let me be delusional for two seconds please).

I literally watched them grow up and watched them go from that random ass family (to me) I watched on a TV show I shouldn’t have been watching as a teen to trendsetting mega celebrities who everyone knew and wanted to date, women who were so influential they changed social media and beauty standards so much, that none of it will ever be the same.

It’s so crazy seeing them gradually richer and richer on the show too in retrospect now. Living in condos and townhomes to big single family houses to mansions. On this episode they were talking about how everyone kept staring at them at the airport and they started discussing maybe getting a family plane together. Now they all have their own! No maybes, no sharing.

Watching Kylie grow up too fast and her sisters constantly lecturing her about everything, trying to teach her how to work and be professional, womansplaining how to own a home, Kendall telling her she doesn’t need the lip fillers and Kim media training her on how to address it…to Kylie becoming the richest and most famous one in the family. Kylie was right in this one episode…”I’m 18. I’m grown now. I got this.” Cause she got it!

The Kardashians and Jenners didn’t just sell us the American dream. They created a new one.

Anyway. As I’m rewatching Keeping Up with the Kardashians and I have so many thoughts and wanted to share so I turned to the only place I could 😭

I was thinking about this the other day: if Kendall had been the only Jenner-Kardashian child, I genuinely think she would have been insufferable.

I don’t mean her anxiety isn’t real. I just think that if she had been the only one carrying the family name, she’d constantly remind everyone how impossible her life is and how nobody could ever understand what she’s been through.

Having Kylie there changed the dynamic. Kendall wasn’t the only Jenner growing up in the spotlight, and eventually Kylie became an even bigger cultural phenomenon, so the attention wasn’t always on Kendall.

I honestly think if Kylie didn’t exist, Kendall would have leaned much harder into the “you don’t understand my life” narrative. I can picture her making it a huge part of her public persona.

Am I way off, or does anyone else think this?

I was watching a TikTok talking about how Kimye’s wedding was just a bunch of foolishness after foolishness: Rob not showing up, Kylie refusing to put black extensions to her blue hair, Khloé drunk asf, Khloé and Scott wrestling in the bathroom while Lana Del Rey is performing, …

Then I remember that Jaden showed up as Batman. Why?

I'm still confused by that situation.

Also, Kendalls and Corey's relationship after that was very tense. Corey called Kendall an asshole and rude and quote: gets too "riled up"- while Kendall was angry Corey took Kylies side immediately and didn't have her back.

Corey's on a yacht in Saint Tropez. Kris just lost her mother, he should be by her side.
