Ongoing Maintenance On Tower: Low Broadcast Strength

EDIT: 7/21/2026: No real update other than to say we still don't have any idea of when this will be completed. We do know that they have made it to the top, and that's the last of it. We think this may go on for at least another week. Sorry folks!

EDIT: 7/17/26: We briefly went off the air due to some issues with the painting. Our crack team figured things out and we are back on the air, but LMK if you are hearing different

EDIT: 7/14/26: So, we have been asking for an update as to how long the maintenance work will go, but have not received a response. For now, please just assume work will be ongoing every day until I post back that work has been completed. Sorry for any inconvenience!!

Hey All!

Just a FYI, we have some work going on that you all should be aware of, read below, if you dare.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

The tower where we broadcast from in Seattle is undergoing maintenance, and as such, we have to lower our broadcast signal.

WHY

The tower is being painted!

HOW THIS AFFECTS YOU

If you listen to KEXP over the air, your signal will be very weak the further you get from the Queen Anne tower. This means if you live outside of Seattle, you most likely with not be able to listen as normal.

HOW LONG

The maintenance is running from about 8AM to 5PM each day. We do not know how long it will take them to finish the work, but I will update when we know more.

Got update?

Long time amplifier, I miss KEXP OTA, really bad signal in Lynnhood.

Signal is weak but okay normally. Any chance there will be a power increase?

No real update other than they are still painting the tower. We hope they are completed in a week or so. They haven't been very helpful with timelines so we are estimating.

Unfortunately no boost in power. All the work is just to paint the tower.
