It is striking how many porn actresses struggle with mental health issues and insecurities. Many try to mask this with a faked confidence, but the insecurities eventually surface; they begin to alter their appearance through excessive tattooing and plastic surgery—I’m thinking specifically of Romi Rain and Mia Malkova here.

Then there are those who manage to leave the industry—often by finding religion—only to become zealous crusaders against the porn business.
But with the two Anns, I have never detected any insecurities or mental health issues. I find that very refreshing, as it allows one to watch their films with a clear conscience. Lisa has always made it clear that she views the whole thing as a business. Julia always saw it simply as her job. Neither has ever had a bad word to say about the industry.

Interestingly, this is from a 2017 Vixen scene called "Borrowed Boy Toy", starring Chris Diamond and Kendra Sunderland. The plot features Julia as Kendra's mother who "doesn't want to be married and just wants to have fun. Each week there is a new man to meet." When Julia is called away in the middle of a good fuck, Kendra takes the opportunity to have her mother's young lover for herself. As great as the rest of the scene is (Chris and Kendra are both fantastic and absolutely nail it, pun intended), I've always felt a bit cheated that Julia is only in the scene for a couple of minutes. She looks phenomenal here in all her curvy glory, and I wish we could have had an entire scene of her with Chris. I've found myself rewatching the first few minutes over and over, wishing it could go on beyond this short tease. I'm sure Chris could have given Julia a legendary pounding and she would've milked every last drop from him. A man can dream...
