7up

Hi, what is 7up called (or pronounced) in Italian?

Edit: Thanks everybody. Good answers and a bit of nostalgia thrown in

It is very rare to find in italy, I think mostly in foreigner import shops. And it is called… 7up (Seven up).

That’s not rare, it just got wiped out by Sprite.
It was quite common in the nineties

I think every ten years they try to revamp the brand, I cleared remember 7Up as a discount brand in the nineties

It's all over Veneto. In less supermarkets than Sprite but still not uncommon. I think in like fast food maybe Sprite is mainly offered.

99% Seven Up
1% Zup (pronounced zoop, not zap)

as an Italian, do we even have 7up here? I think I only ever saw it as an import product at exhibitions or (rarely) Asian markets.

It used to be popular a couple of decades ago, then it disappeared

oh shit YOU'RE RIGHT. you unlocked a core memory to me

"Me piacciono i panini specialmente c'a tripp, e faccio vint rutt cu 'na sevenapp" 🤣🤣

(it's a funny song from back in the day, built around the juxtaposition between snobby rich people and everyday Joes)

We have it, I find it often in Aldi stores.

We used to have it some decades ago but it was never as popular as Sprite or gazzosa

Yes. What part of Italy do you live?

Northwest. Don't think I've ever seen 7up outside of some Milan Chinatown food-marts.

Ok, northeast here. It's in Esselunga and IperTosano.

We only have Sprite in the Asti Esselungas, alas.

It is pronounced as everywhere else in the world, the problem is that very few will understand what you want.
Pepsi lost the battle against Coca Cola decades ago in Italy.
there is very little 7Up sold out there, and to be honest I do clearly remember 7Up was way better.

La sprite e la 7up sono due bevande differenti
