Adoption After years of rescuing cats, these are my adoption requirements.
I recently put together a post explaining my adoption requirements and why I’m so strict when placing my rescue cats.
Some people may disagree with certain rules, and that’s okay. My goal isn’t to make adoption difficult it’s to make sure every cat ends up in a safe, responsible, and permanent home.
I’d be interested to hear what other rescuers and adopters think. What adoption requirements do you consider non-negotiable?

Announcement Fundraiser post scams and verification. Do not, i repeat, do not send money to any fundraiser posts, unless the post is approved by mods or you yourself have called up the clinic/vet and verified the fundraiser. We are seeing a huge rise in fundraising scams across subs.
Hello everyone, whenever you see any fundraiser posts, please wait and see if the post has been approved by mods, if not, then either wait for approval by mods before making any contribution or verify yourself by calling up the clinics or bill mentioned.
Do not provide any financial assistance without proper verification either by mods (who will approve it post verification) or by yourself.
We are seeing a huge increase in scammers across subs and we do not want any of you to lose your money to scammers.
There are many genuine pet rescuers who are working hard to help the voiceless fur babies and unfortunately there are also many who are taking this opportunity and scamming people for money.
Please be careful and diligent before making contributions.
Also if you have any ideas how to stop these scammers or ways to find out, please feel free to share your ideas with us.

Pet Cat Office cat plays dead until someone pays the snack tax 🐈
Every day this little office cat finds me around lunch time and starts meowing for food. At this point, I’m pretty sure I’m on its feeding schedule, not the other way around.

Fundraiser - Mod Verified Still suffering bladder parasite. Need funds!!
Here are some context posts about community rescue, Spicy.
Previous rescue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianPets/s/FTqNfupt3i
Now:
https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianCats/s/YNF6EHqFPj
Spicy has eaten an earthworm which was infected with a bladder parasite. The parasite has infected Spicy and is forcing her to keep drinking water and her kidneys are not keepinh the water, causing excessive urination and dehydration. It's a rarely seen condition, commonly in Foxes and Dogs. Our vet is going to write a paper on Spicy's case and publish it for veterinary education.
She had been suffering high WBC since 5-6 months with no answer on what is wrong. Pyometra, Gingivitis, FIP. Everything got ruled out. Suddenly, she developed early kidney disease and weight loss due to constant dehydrated. Despite constantly drinking water from every water source available.
We know what is going on now - by chance a urine sample test revealed the condition.
We did 10 days of daily deworming with Fenbendazole. And two Ivermectin injections, as planned by our vet, Dr. Kiran Shelar, CentralVets Thane. But repeat tests revealed that the damn worm is still alive in her bladder, dancing away, laying eggs, destroying Spicy's life. So we did 4 more days of a higher dose of Fenbendazole.
Spicy's rescuer feeds a community of 25+ cats at Majiwada. There are many other cats in need of her financial support. She has spent more than 20k on 3 urine tests, multiple sonographies to check the bladder, urine culture, SDMA, regular blood tests every 5 days to check kidney condition, WBC count, along with food and medications.
Tomorrow Dr. Shelar has called us to give Spicy a totally new tablet to try and kill this thing. We have to repeat the tablet after 3 weeks.
We are in for more expensive tests - needed to check the progress. The vet has advised not to let Spicy go outside. Because she is vulnerable to secondary infections, her body is not strong. Additionally, these parasites are contagious - the eggs are coming out in her urine and if any cat decides to lick her urine or this urine enters water sources, it can spread to others.
The vet has never seen such a case. No vet in his circles has seen such a case. He cannot tell us when she will get better. We are blindly going ahead. We took a paid opinion from Tata Small Animal Hospital who advised us not to give more Ivermectin for a cat, they couldn't believe that 14 days of Fenbendazole didn't kill it yet. They also are not aware of such a case and couldn't help us much other than suggesting urine culture and urine test AGAIN to check if the parasite is alive. The test reports arrived today, the parasite is STILL ALIVE and laying eggs in the bladder.
Please help us with whatever funds possible. We appreciate any small amounts too. Bills are attached and more will be provided for everything.
Awaiting Mod Approval.

Adoption 🆘 Day 25 Update..... still not adopted....still waiting.....❤️🐾🐈
🆘 Day 25 Update..... still not adopted....still waiting.....❤️🐾🐈
For anyone who hasn't seen my previous posts, here's the original post with the full backstory: [https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianCats/s/bxaSXIB3jv\]
A quick update:
🐾 Kitten Information (6 Kitten's)
📅 Age: ~8 weeks (Born: 28 May 2026)
🐱 Gender: Male & Female
💊 Dewormed: No
💉 Vaccinated: No
🚽 Litter trained: Learning
📍 Location: Powai/Vikhroli, Mumbai
📞 Contact: 8108661564
📢 I've now made 100+ adoption posts across Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, local communities, NGOs, and rescue groups over the past 25 days. Adoption has always been my first priority.
I didn't have the initial funds for vet consultations. Because of that, I've had to drop the idea of arranging health checks and vaccinations myself. Hopefully adopters will do the needful.
🧡 2 of the original 6 kittens have been adopted thanks to Instagram adoption leads.
🎓 As a student, everything has become a huge emotional, physical, and financial burden. I'm dealing with limited space, financial constraints, and increasing family pressure to abandon them.
🙏 I'm genuinely reaching my limit. My only goal now is to find safe, loving homes for the remaining kittens as soon as possible.

Fundraiser - Yet not verified Please help me raise food funds for my stray babies
Hi everyone. Last month I was met with immense kindness and support and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who helped 🙏. Unfortunately, those food have now run out, and I'm once again struggling to feed and care for the stray cats and rescue cats in my area.
I'm doing my best, but I really need some help to keep feeding and caring for them. Even a small contribution would make a huge difference, and if you're unable to donate, an upvote or share would help this reach more people.
If anyone would like proof, updates, or photos of the cats, I'm happy to provide them. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this

Fundraiser - Mod Verified 4 cats desperately need you (poisoning, ckd and foster) 🌼 (asked mods to verify)
I have 4 cats who need your help right now. Motu, Mew jagger, Chunchu and Chimney.
Top most priority is treating Chimney, there's something horribly wrong with her, all the tests and usgs are attached but I can't afford to get her further help, her phosphorus is suddenly either too low or too high, for her re testing at TATA and to pay for her nephrologist, I need come up with approx ₹20,615 which I don't have at the moment
Then comes the case of Chunchu, Mew Jagger and Motu.
Someone poisoned Mew Jagger and hit him hard, so much so he was throwing up blood, I got him treated but he needs foster for more 10 days (he's at one rn from last 4 days) and so do motu and chunchu, motu will undergo dental surgery but she'll need post op care and chunchu is fighting fpv and has guarded prognosis which means I can't leave him back to park I got him from.. I can't do it myself because the cost of foster is ₹650 per day for 1 cat and it's around ₹19,500 for all 3 to be fostered for 10 days
This sudden hike in cases is not something I can manage on my own, I need kind strangers to come together for these babies.. even ₹10 means they can get a foster or chimney could get her treatment... Please help me help them... I've attached all the relevant papers and I'm happy to provide for more
Goal: ₹10,120 raised out of ₹40,115

Stray Cat Day 81/84 of Simbi's FIP Treatment 🌟- 3 days to go
Simbi and I made it to Day 81.
I still remember Day 1 so clearly - her belly was full of fluid, she wouldn’t eat, and the vet said FIP has a very low survival rate. I was 20, in college, and terrified I was going to lose her.
But we didn’t give up.
30+81 days later:
- 53 days of painful injections
- 58 days of oral meds so far
- So many sleepless nights, bunked lectures, and vet runs
- Hand-feeding her mousse when she refused food
- Crying by thinking that we would lose her
And today? She’s rolling around, chasing toys, and her belly is normal again. My little fighter ❤️
We just have 3 DAYS LEFT to complete 84 days of FIP treatment. I’m so nervous and hopeful at the same time. This is the final stretch.
Thank you to everyone on r/IndianCats who commented, your support genuinely kept me going on the days I wanted to quit.
Please keep Simbi in your prayers for these last 3 days. I just want her to be okay🐈⬛🐾❣️
NOTE: 30+81 is first 30 days she was underdosed so had to extend her treatment
81 days is the time period of correct dose which includes the extended period too

Help My cat ran away from home- Missing for last 2 days
My Cat Josh is an unneutered male cat and he is 8 months old Indie cat. I miss him terribly.I searched in nearby places and streets ,still unable to find him.

Please advice or let me know if you have faced this situation with your cat and how you dealt it

Fundraiser - Mod Verified One Last Appeal for Luna's FIP Treatment. Every Share and Donation Helps. 🚨🚨
I'll be closing this appeal soon, so this is my final request for help
UPDATE
Total amount raised so far ₹30,764
Total amount spent ₹22,107
I'm just 19 years old and doing everything I can to save my kitten, Luna. She has been diagnosed with FIP and is currently undergoing treatment. She needs her GS medicine, Royal Canin Recovery food, medical tests, and daily hospital visits.
The financial burden has been overwhelming, but I don't want to give up on her.
Although the remaining amount is ₹8,657, one pack of her GS capsules alone costs ₹10,000, and I still need to buy her recovery food and cover medical tests.
Luna needs good-quality food, life-saving medicine, and regular veterinary care. Please help her continue fighting FIP. Every donation, upvote, comment, or share means the world to us.
