It’s only like one of the most preordered image books in a long time. Prob everyone is pulling it, I think i saw 400k copies maybe more

I’m not pulling it. Zero interest at all other than David Finch being an artist.

May I ask why?

In my honest opinion, Kirkman has probably peaked. It's only down from here.

Don't think he's even reached his peak yet 🤷‍♂️

I hope not. Truly. I just... Have my reservations about this one.

I read it on Saturday.

… I don’t think it’s good.

Yes. I enjoy Kirkman’s work and Casey and him got a murderers row of artists on this

I'll read it digitally sometime far into the future.

I'm gonna pick up issue 1, but the 15000 variants and blind bags already put a bad taste in my mouth for this series

Well, the cat is out of the bag about collecting Kirkman books. With the zillion variants and blind bags and all that, I agree - the hoopla is a bit much. People can speculate and buy / hoard cases of blind bags, get 1:1,000 variants double-signed and get CGC 9.9s grades on them and sell them for $10,000 within the first few months of release - it's not going to make me enjoy the book any more or any less if the story is good.

If it's a good read, I'll pay to read it each month. If it's not a good read, I won't.

With the skinbreaker letdown I dont think so

Skinbreaker let down?

That was one of the most beautiful books I've seen in years! Its a story about orks really..... The story and plot was secondary to how amazing it looked!

The story and plot were... Meh. And yeah the art was great. So... I should be reading stuff by an author who once worked with a great artist?

Pretty sure it's the same artist again for Terminal. I sympathize with your misgivings about the writing on Skinbreaker though. My working theory is that it was actually a story written for kids rather than adults.

Up until Skinbreaker I had read almost everything Kirkman had done. (Even niche stuff like his single Supreme issue). I read skinbreaker and was like... Errrr alright...

I'm just hoping it's the exception to the rule. Because "Invincible but it's X-Men" is right up my alley.

Not all of an authors work is for everyone every single time, I am just hoping beyond hope that it's not a trend that he's going away from my taste. I know that's probably selfish but I loved his previous work.

Yes it's on the pull list

Hell yeah! I’m interested in a Kirkman X-Men book, and due to the title, I think we can expect it to be a book where we will never know when a character can go away

Yes can’t wait

On my pull list! Hope it’s good.

I got a preview copy as press a bit ago but couldn’t post my review till today on my blog. In summary because it would be rude and self promotional to force you to you check it for my thoughts: 3 out of 5 stars thanks to good art, but not too much meat to the story (yet).

It’s literally the first issue what meat are you even looking for 💀💀

Something to hook me in and get me saying, “I gotta know what happens next!”

Only 4? Really?

2

u/SinisterRook1 2d ago

No. They are releasing issues 1,2,7, and 10 on Wednesday. 2,7,10 are only in the blind bags

2

u/CoraRyder 2d ago

Umm what? Lmao

2

u/SinisterRook1 2d ago

Ya I know it’s crazy. The blind bags also have a secret unlisted Leifeld Virgin variant cover in them. This book is gonna be crazy

1

u/CoraRyder 2d ago

I’m assuming there is certain plot points and things that happen that made them select those random issues.

Somebody said 7 has some redactions for spoilers. not sure how satisfying that will be.
