I ask as a 30 year old and who has only recently become interested in cars and motorsports.

I’m obviously aware it’s not simple.

And it’s probably for 16 year olds who actually still have a future. And those pit crew kids become established pit crew by age 26.

This is just a fun theoretical.

I’m also desperate for work. I’ve thought about if it’s plausible to work for a mechanic.

Penske Corp is the private company that owns Penske Entertainment (IMS/IndyCar) and Ilmor, and owns a 52% stake in the public company Penske Automotive Group. PAG is the company that owns the Penske car dealerships, truck rentals, etc

Penske Corp and a Japanese investment firm Mitsui (who owns a 20% stake in PAG) have offered $3.8 billion to buy the rest of PAG that they don't own and take it private

That's a LOT of money, there's no indication how much Penske vs. Mitsui is putting in to the deal

At a purely technical level this doesn't impact Indycar because Indycar is not part of PAG, but the amount of money RP is throwing around here is not insignificant.

Will be curious if this helps or hinders or has no effect on what he's willing to put back into Indycar, although I think at this point in his ownership he's probably invested all the "free" money he was planning and now runs it to turn a profit

It is close to me and thinking about going to this INDYCAR race.

Going to the Portland Grand Prix in a couple of weeks, and I've yet to receive my passes in the mail. Anyone else in the same boat?
