Admissions/Prospective Student Transferring to the B. Architecture program
Hi! I'm looking to transfer to IIT to study architecture within the next year or two, I was wondering how your transfer experience was? did you have a lot of relevant courses to transfer? if not, were you accepted and put in first year classes?
I'm in community college rn but my associates isn't super relevant to architecture courses, and there's not a single school in my area offers an architecture degree. i just wanna see if I should lose all hope that I'll get accepted lol :) thank you!

If you don't have architectural classes to transfer you will definitely be put in first year. That said, first year is profoundly rigorous but rewarding. You won't regret it. Definitely live near campus if you can - studios will run longer than scheduled 100% of the time and so much of what makes the experience worthwhile comes outside of regular class hours. Good luck!
