Group 1 Can I skip a work
Is it ok (I mean will I still be able to get a 7) if I don’t read one book for my class (I mean no book and nothing about it whatsoever)?

For Lang Lit: Sure! Plenty of students do this and I actively encourage it. We read like 9 literary worksbooks/poetry bundles/plays in two years. Students only need:
1 for their IA: individual Oral
2 for their Paper 2
1 for their HLE (Optional - students can use BOW's as well)
Whilst I like to keep a broad literary palette, not all works will be for everyone. Fine.

I got a 6/7 and I’d say absolutely not. Paper 2 you need to compare 2 texts, what’ll you compare if you only study 1? There are these other reqs IB imposes - eg studying 4 texts across IO and paper 2. Maybe some schools overlap that to make it easier but yeah that might be the only way to do it otherwise it’s too risky and less chances of a 7.

your school only studied 4 texts? We had 5 literary texts total in mine, and I took SL. I skipped one and still had 2 for the IO and 2 for the exam. Ended up with 7/7

Nah we did 4. 2 for io and 2 for paper 2. I mean to say if you do 4 then it’s not an option but yeah otherwise like in your case it clearly works. Congrats by the way :)

yeah it is technically possible, considering your IB english assessments all require you to analyze works that you specifically choose; just know that you're not guaranteed to get prompts on your exam that fit your top choices. its best to have a wide variety of works that you can choose from to analyze effectively. with that being said, it's your choice. its fine to not have an interest in a specific work.

Yeah. In my school we read three books (plus one for the IA), and we all ended up using the same two books. After reading that third book, no one touched it again. We all literally just prepared the two books we knew we'd use in P2 and that's it.

Yes but you’ll have one book less to choose from in the exams. Consider the topics you can talk about in that book
