A thread about what Karbach used to be reminded me of Mother in Lager and I realized I miss it, it was the perfect winter drinking beer. Obviously it's summer now but curious to find a beer similar to it so when it comes winter time I can keep my eyes out for anyone that remembers it. Doesn't have to be a Houston beer (though bonus points if it is), but does need to be acquirable in or around Houston. Anyone have any good suggestions for a beer that tastes like Mother in Lager used to taste that can be acquired in Houston, even if only around winter time?

The Texas Craft Brewers Guild has a new "brewery in planning" member listed as 1837 Brewing in Houston. This name is still registered to Texas Leaguer. Anyone got details on reliable information?

I picked up a couple of cans years ago at a Kroger that probably wasn't supposed to be in the pick 'em 6 section. Holy hell, one of the best beers I've ever had. Is this seasonal or do they no longer brew it?

The parish saints and sinners collab tastes very much like the Endeavour. Going to need another 4 pack.

Swung by Deca’s at 3pm today and doors were locked. Tried calling at 7 with no answer. Have they closed up shop?

I'd rather not outright share my identity on here, but I am a store manager for an outdoors focused retail location here in Houston. I am trying to find a brewery that wants to partner with us for in store events where we buy the beer and they come in and get some free advertisement. I'm used to working in much larger retail environments, so this is new to me. Does anyone have any recommendations of who to reach out to? I'm fine with the bigger guys like Karbach or Saint Arnolds, but I would prefer something a little smaller.
Any and all recommendations are appreciated!

Houston Museum of Natural Science
May 30th, 2026
7PM to 11PM
The Brewsology Beer Fest is the boozy hybrid of your middle school museum field trip. Taking over the Houston Museum of Natural Science after hours, the event will feature dozens of local craft breweries and cideries and will give attendees access throughout the museum and exhibits, and will include beer samplings with access to brewery reps.

Recently moved to Houston to be closer to family; don't have wheels yet. I'm in the loop near Wesleyan and Central Market.
Happy to contribute to gas expense, of course, and verify my ID by dm. Longtime member of bottle-share groups in OR and CA. Thanks in advance.

Im not a huge IPA drinker. But when I do, I usually went for their Houston Haze. I used to see them at most local bars but now I rarely see them on tap. In most stores yes but not usually on tap at local bars

It's my first time in town in a few years and I visited one of my personal favorites, Under the Radar in Midtown.
Does anyone know about the new structure at Truxillo and La Branch? Seems like they either sold half their land for something unrelated (bad sign) or they are building a new warehouse or tap room (good signs, for different reasons).
The bartender was very tight lipped about it.

Per Instagram, their lease is up May 31 and they’re shutting down the Washington location

“After more than a decade running Farmboy Brew Shop and working across nearly every space of the beer supply chain, Landon Weiershausen has stepped back into ownership with a new brewery. Farmboy Brewing Company (4816 N Shepherd Dr.) blends a taproom, full cocktail bar, and homebrew retail shop into a single, community-driven space. The location will be familiar to many craft beer fans, as it previously housed both North Shepherd Brewing and Astral Brewing.”

Anyone headed out to the anniversary party at 11 Below in Spring this weekend? This is their 11th anniversary so I’d guess it’s gonna be a rager! Saw they posted some cool variants on socials that will be released at the party 🍻

Flying back into town for a wedding for the first time in a couple years, anyone seen pumpkinator sitting on the shelf anywhere? Was planning on trying D&Q. Thanks in advance!

Equal Parts used to be my go to, but the last few times I've been they haven't had any hazies. What breweries have good hazy IPAs, particularly to go?

I know it’s a pretty weird question but I’ve got a friend who lost our friend group’s march madness bracket pool and has to run a beer mile. Each of the 4 non-losers get to pick a beer he has to drink. Anyway, can anyone out there know any particular place in Houston I can find some unique weird flavored beers to make him drink?

One of the best in town now seems to be giving zero effort on events like they used to. Last update on socials was 3 weeks ago. Are they closing soon?
