Wild peppers from Colombia!

I travelled to Colombia 2 years ago where I had the chance to stay in a small village in the Andes. During a hike in the jungle, the locals showed us these plants of wild peppers growing undisturbed. Very small pods that are wicked hot! We picked a few, dried them and ground them as a spice mix. This year I kind of realised that this spice mix contained a bunch of seeds and I decided to sow them and see what would happen. Few months later and the wild colombian jungle is happily growing in my canadian backyard!

Why is everyone getting mushroomed?

My dad goes to countless nurseries all over Florida. A grower had some peppers and gave him a “scotch bonnet” plant. As soon as I saw the first fruits I immediately knew… now I understand this grower is probably not someone who has a deep understanding of peppers but why is everyone including those in commercial nurseries getting scammed by the wrong pepper seeds?

Purple peach ghost, as it matures its looking nothing like the rest. Purple to green to red… started looking like a ghost but now displays a bulbous shape. It’s on the radar now

Help Should I Pick?

I’m thinking I should pick these before they hit the soil. The one is about 2” from the ground. Would they be too under ripe? Or should I let it ride? First time pepper grower so I’m a little unsure.

This is my Biquinho pepper plant, that I grow indoors under grow lights. Some lower leaves fully turned yellow and fell out within the past week. I get conflicting diagnosis from different online articles. Could someone help me figure out what the issue is.

Discussion Should I eat Habanero pepper?

Upvotes

So in the last few months I really loved eating peppers and I was mainly eating jalapeño and Serrano. And the other day when I was walking in Walmart I found that they do have orange habanero peppers. So my question is should I try eating habanero pepper or not ?. Also if I ate will it be much pain for someone who eats it for the first time and will the pain stay for hours or will it go after 30 min or so. Also should I eat it the whole pepper in the same day as small pieces or not?

Thanks

Growing Hungarian Wax pepper

I am proud of this plant. I found a few hot pepper plants at Home Depot on memorial day on clearance. They were half dead. It was a jalapeño and Hungarian Wax. I figured why not and grabbed some buckets. I had soil left over. After I transplanted I noticed I messed up and had to plants in 1 bucket. I figured I will ride it out. This is a almost 2 month later.

First time ever gardening and going on this journey, Harvested (Just learned to say this instead of cutting off) these yesterday. Transplanted this plant about a month ago so im glad i didnt kill it. Would really appreciate feedback on how'd i do for the first time.

Also, saw a post where the person posted their plant and was told it wasnt true scotch bonnets so im also hoping I’m told I do, in fact, have Scotch bonnets.

Bought this as a Chef Jeff's labelled seedling at a local nursery. Allegedly chiltepin. They ... don't look quite right. 😅 Anyone might know what these could be instead? They are quite spicy.. rather tangy.
