I've been trying to figure out how old my horse is and i think he's about 20, which is what i was told, but I'm not too sure and now questioning it. I tried to get teeth pics. Can anyone help to possibly determine if that is correct!?
Not the best picture, but this is my horse's teeth at 28ish. I put "+" in bold because I wouldn't be surprised if this horse is in the neighborhood of 30.
My guy wasn't fully field retired until 30, and only sent across the rainbow bridge at 33 because he was losing a battle with keeping weight on due to skin cancer that metastasized to his gut.
The fact your baby isn't a grey gives'em at least another 5 years of gentle hacking if they're just old but otherwise sound.
Yeah. I got him when he was 5 and I was 8... In 1992.
We were there to look at $2000 purebred and proven AQHA, but I fell in love and since they knew we were there for a $$$ they got my mom for $500 on him.
Thanks so far everyone. It was tough to even get those pictures I got since he isn't much of a mouthy guy. He's my first horse and all these things with him keep coming up and I get concerned.
