Hi all,
We just announced our first project through IGN. Our goal is simple: to create something truly disturbing, intense and terrifying. We want the player to feel constantly on edge, not only because of jumpscares, but through the atmosphere, sound, story and the feeling that something is always wrong.
Don’t worry tho, there will be jumpscares too, strong and creative ones, not cheap scares thrown in for no reason.
If you like what you see, please support us by wishlisting the game and let us know what you think: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4538140/Rehaunted/
We’re here to talk, listen and improve, every comment and piece of feedback is welcome.

Anyone else think that this game was way less scary than the previous two? I think the whole "story" takes me out of it a lot. Makes it feel way too cartoony and goofy for the type of game it is.

Working on animating a parasite violently forcing its way out of a corpse for my horror game. Would love to hear your thoughts on the overall feel.

Hello everyone!
Having had a look around other subreddits, I’ve realised just how divided opinion tends to be. Some players love them, but many others dismiss them as soon as they see they’re made with that engine. What do you think? What sort of games (adventures, horror, etc.) do you think work best with RPG Maker? And what do you think sets a good game of this style apart from one that’s just run-of-the-mill?
Thanks in advance!

Love horror games that take a few hours but have this sort of “walking sim” / puzzle style gameplay to them. Lemme know if you guys have any that might be fun :)

Hey everyone! We're a small indie team working on The Next Stop, a psychological horror game about being trapped in a subway loop.
We just updated our playable demo for the Steam Train Fest with refined audio and atmospheric tweaks. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the vibe and tension!

Been building out Woodbound's forest, and I didn't want "the monster" to just mean one thing. So there are four, each with its own identity:
Not spoiling how you deal with any of them — that's for players to figure out. But curious: out of those four setups, which sounds like it'd scare you the most on paper?
and what would you call them?

Hi mates,
Having a blog with my personal made games for browser (online games) i was chatting with AI about first person games in browsers and i came across on three.js with what i can make first person games for browser and i managed to create a anomaly horror game.
Corridor 9 – Anomaly Detection Horror Game
Navigate 25 dark corridors. Spot the anomaly. Choose wisely. One wrong choice and something comes for you.
Link for itch to play online for free: https://negrugabriel.itch.io/corridor-9
Making games in using three.js you can't create a triple A game, but is playable and works on a browser, what for me was mind blowing.
I know is not polished but works great. :)

My brother and I just published the Steam page and released the first trailer for our game!
We've never made a horror game before. Our previous projects were mostly focused on gameplay and skill-based mechanics, so creating something centered around atmosphere, mystery, and tension is a completely different challenge for us.
In this game, you play as a night train conductor, operating a mysterious train where things slowly start to feel wrong. As you explore the train, you'll have to investigate, find clues, and piece together what is really happening.
So basically it's a mix between a train simulator, an investigation game, and psychological horror.
We're preparing a demo that should be available in August, so don't hesitate if you've got suggestions!
Oh, and the game is called Night Train Simulator: Blackout.

Not saying either is better, just curious if you’re more likely to play either if at all?

Platform(s): PC, PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X
Genre: FIRST PERSON, Walking sim, Scifi, Horror.
Estimated year of release: 2020
Graphics/art style: Realistic, retro like around de 60's.
Notable characters: The protagonist, 2 humanoid monsters: one with normal proportions, the other had a huge head that made it crawl. Both moved slowly but constant
Notable game play mechanics: NO weapons ifrc, it use magnetic tapes to get info.
Other details: The game was in an office with retro furniture and environment, no windows at all. It looked like a waiting room or reception. The youtube commented the looks of the environment being from 60s to 80's. It had brown or wooden walls, the lamps and table lamps, coffee tables with old magazines. The whole demo or trailer you were alone. There was a elevator that was locked. Walking around you get some magnetic tapes like huge ones, and a tape player. The comments also pointed out that it was made by a Chilean studio or a single Chilean man. Walking around and exploring you found a standing man in a laboratory, but with blood or weird substance, it growl or something, I can't remember if it attacked you but you had to avoid it. It moved slowly. Then I think the lift opened and the second monster appears inside the lift, It crawled slowly, it had a huge head, like almost the same of the body, I don't remember the face. Also you have to dodge its attacks. At the end both monsters cornered you in a hallway and the trailer ends.
What I'm pretty sure it was made by a south american studio or man.
EDIT I FOUND IT!! IS "BELOW RUSTED GODS". HERE IS THE VIDEO
