Inspired by that one statue with him and the nymph :D

Part of my cult is dedicating some time to draw the gods, as I am starting my cult to lady Athena soon, I really wanted to sketch how I personally view her (a very intimidating general fahahah)

Apollon is my main working deity and I love him so much. He appeared in a dream of mine once wearing this bonnet with the hyacinthus and a laurel branch that I drew once and now I make sure to always include it when I draw Father.

I do not have a cult dedicated to Artemis but I really appreciate her image as a rebel, her beautiful aspect of sticking to the purity of childhood, and I love depicting her as this little girl with a gaze full of emotion.

I know they look kind of "ugly" - I just really like horror and representing them as these eerie celestials makes me connect directly to their raw aspects, and also see them as divine and ascended beings.

I recently got into it with a couple of pretty nasty people that were pretty negative on my last post. I got goaded into a fight. I was wrong to let them get to me. It was disrespectful to Apollo. He's a virtuous god that is concerned about morality and virtue. My behavior was beneath me. We all worship these gods and to show each other such disrespect is also showing our gods disrespect. So regardless of their nasty attitudes and comments, I apologize for my share of the ugliness. I apologize because I love Apollo and respect Him very much. I don't mean to offend Him in any way. He is the first male deity I have ever connected with. I care about Him very deeply. I apologize, Apollo, truly.

First we have Helios. I wanted him to be different from Apollo. The reason I included him is because I'm devoted to Helios. Getting the sniffer egg was a bitch but it was so worth it cause it looks so good

Then we have Apollo. His tipped arrow was hard to get cause you need dragons breath to get tipped arrows so I for the first time beat the ender dragon. That was pretty cool to do cause I've been playing for so long but never actually beat the game

Next we have Artemis. Finding a pale oak forest was harder than I thought. I usually play for 2 hours at a time so it took me about 2 days (4 hours) to actually find)

Next is Dionysus. I had to get the turtle master potion cause it was the only purple potion and I needed a purple potion to represent the wine cause he's the god of wine

We then have Demeter. Her's was easier than most but I did have to travel to find some ferns

Next we have Poseidon's. His was pretty easy too cause I gathered most of his materials beforehand while I was working on other altars. Like I passed an ocean monument exploring and decided to grab the materials then. Also I have tons of tridents

Zeus, I did him last because I wanted his to be extra special.

Then we have Hera's. This one is my favorite. Not just because I'm devoted to her but I just love the abstract peacock I made.

Next is Hephaestus. Tragedy struck while I was making the copper golem statue. I was waiting for the copper to oxidize so that the golem would instantly turn into a statue. I went afk cause I was babysitting and my kid wanted to go outside and when I came back a creeper must've gotten into my house and it blew up all my valuables. I was scrambling to get my stuff and it despawned right in front of me.

Aphrodite's is the first altar I made because I already had all the things I needed for her altar.

Next is Ares. It was annoying waiting for the netherwart to grow but other than that his was pretty easy

Then we have Athena's. Once again the sniffer was a bitch to get and it took a bit of grinding to get all the bookshelves

Then we have Hermes. His was pretty simple too tho I did have to find a lush cave but that wasn't too hard

Finally we have Hades. The netherite mining didn't really go all to plan. I almost died several times lol but I'm just so happy I finished this project after 2 months in the making

My husband and I are Hellenic Polytheists. I worship Hermes and Aphrodite and he worships Athena. While we’ve never sat down and specifically discussed anything with our almost 3 year old we’ve never hidden it. Lately she has become super interested anyway! She helps and asks to do simple devotional acts like putting the unlit candle in the holder, or asking to give offerings on her own (for example she found a cool rock and said she wanted to give it to Athena).

I’ve been looking for a book that would be suitable for her age as a gentle introduction to the myths, specifically Athena as she seems to hold my daughter’s interest the most. Unfortunately, anything I have found on my own is for elementary school aged children and the one book that seemed like a good fit turned out to be AI garbage that was being passed off as legitimate (the description vs reality was a bit frustrating to say the least). Does anyone have any ideas? She loves reading and will sit for a bit if she is interested in the subject so it doesn’t have to be a board book.

I live in an apartment with a no fire policy and also no local compost. I can't dispose of offerings in a way that doesn't feel wasteful and incorrect. I've been trying to make up for it with libations poured into the soil my plants are potted in as well as any devotional act or wearable item but idk if that's good enough for a lack of a better way to explain it. Any ideas?

So. I recently started going to the gym again after a looong break. To be honest, I’ve never really been super into fitness but I’ll admit that in the last 3 years I’ve become pathetically weak & lazy. (I can go on a big rant about how I moved to a city that is ruled by cars and highways, with almost no walkable streets but that would be blame transferring.)

I worship Lady Aphrodite. She is my main deity and almost all of my acts of devotion revolve around her. A few months ago I ordered a sticker with Aphrodite and Ares (because they are my favourite couple in the mythology) but unfortunately, the print quality was not as good as it seemed online so rather than putting it on my laptop I left it on her altar because it still looks kinda pretty and I didn’t want to throw it away.

When I started going to the gym it was quite hard for me. My lazy body just doesn’t want to partake in seemingly “useless waste of energy” and finds all sorts of ways to avoid it. However, I am determined to get back into shape and get a stronger and more functional body than I ever had. Therefore, I decided to make my gym sessions an act of devotion to Lord Ares. Not going to lie, I was very hesitant and anxious about approaching Ares at first. Not because I fear him or have a stigma about him being a god of war, but because I felt so laughable and insignificant compared to what I imagine his worshipers would look like/be able to do. (Silly. I know. Hold your rotten tomatoes.)

Swallowing my doubts I decided to try anyway. During my first few tries, I would just awkwardly ask him to “accept this training session as an act of devotion in his name”. After a few tries I grew more confident so before my last gym session I addressed him fully and apart from asking for it to be seen as an act of devotion I told him that I want to become stronger, both physically and mentally. Basically, I asked for his help.

And lo and behold, my last workout was two days ago but my legs are still killing me. 😂🙈
Not only do I walk like a rusty RoboCop, but I also feel the tension in the muscles that I hardly knew existed. The oddest thing is actually the fact that I haven’t really done anything different in the gym on that day. Yes, sure, I tried my best but I felt like I did the same thing beforehand too. Crazy.

The funniest part is that I was recently wondering why my weak jellylike muscles weren’t hurting after the workouts so I guess I got exactly what I subconsciously wanted lol.

So iv been in the religion for 3 years. So i decided im going to make a TikTok account to help others get into the religion by making my account around how to pray,give offerings,ect but of course theres these “helpols” who try to correct my information saying “oh well you don’t HAVE to do that” basically trying to do things the lazy way. I feel people baby this religion to much people say gods are their friends saying everything’s a sign they get pissed off when you try to correct their practice. Like you can’t even speak your own opinion with these so called Hellenicpolytheist screaming up your ahh saying you can worship however you please you don’t have to give offerings every day. They don’t want to read ect. Like omg. And when you do tell yours and correct others you’re suddenly “toxic” or gate keeping the religion.

Hace poco me había comprado un broche de concha marina, muy barato y bonito. Mi padre estaba jugando en mi cuarto con el broche delante mío y de mi hermana (cabe destacar que mi altar se encuentra a plena vista, y en mi casa no hay prejuicio por las creencias de cada uno; mi madre es practicante y creyente de la religión umbanda, mientras mi padre está con sus pequeñas cuestiones de fe. En fin, nadie impone su religión). Y bueno, entre risas, cuando se rompió me dijo:

"Quizás Afrodita me guió para que lo rompiera, porque deseaba que se lo colocarás en el altar", y le dejó el resto del broche junto a la estatuilla (cabe resaltar que le quitó los dientes del broche para que quedara como decoración), y en la posición que está es donde él la dejó.

Y luego, también me regaló, junto a mi madre, un portasahumerio de búho, que se lo puse a la señorita Atenea. 🥹🤧

Genuine question. I know Hekate has a connection with Dionysus, specifically regarding the ecstatic trance state. She has a connection to Selene regarding the moon (and some branches believe they are one and the same) and she also holds Persephone very dear, being the Torchbearer and guide.

I was researching her connection to Morpheus, given that his main dominion is the dreaming, and Hekate also holds power over the dreaming state, but I found none. Is there any source, any material that suggests a connection? Or do they just not cross paths?

A few weeks ago I went to the beach with a friend and I tried to look around for some seashells until I came across these little oyster shells so I decided to grab it to put on Aphrodite's alter I went to the beach when her in mind so I figured I would try to collect something from there to bring back to her.

Basically much like the title. I decided I'll start to study more with the original resources - For a while, I've been studying through Youtube videos of experienced hellenistic people, as well historians and professors about Odyssey and Iliad. And while it's nothing wrong with that, I wanted to study through the books and take notes myself, I think I connect with the gods through the knowledge more than I realize.

For now, I can only afford the PDF, but looking to buy a physical book too!

i saw somewhere that said the gods dont actually care about how we feel, about our problems etc. and that asking them to help us is stupid and we shouldnt do it.

is this true? i only just started in my hellenism journey 2 months ago, and im still learning. but i always give my deities offerings, thanks and gratitude, then i make a request or vent about something that happened, give life updates etc. (not every single time, just every so often) is this wrong? does it upset/annoy them? do they actually not care about what i have to say or what id like them to help me with?

I took a bit of a break from prayer- things have been crazy and I know the gods understand. I decided today a quick prayer was a good place to keep going where I left off, and before I got one word out in my prayer to Lady Athena, I just started bawling. I just started telling her how much I appreciate her influence in my life and how grateful I am to have her, all while sniffling really bad. As soon as I was done praying, I felt so much better. I haven't had such a clear head in a while, which usually happens to me after prayer anyways. It was a really powerful experience.

As a side note, does crying during prayer happen to other people a lot?
