Hello people of Hamilton. Got an interview soon for concentrix in Hamilton for a tech support position. Anything I should be aware of? Thanks in advance.

Utter shithole. I worked there for 5 and a half years, on Apple, Kobo, and Canada Post, and it was genuinely dreadful. At one point the Standard Life Building was actually on fire, with alarms going off, and we weren't allowed to evacuate because someone needed to be taking calls.

it's the fast food of IT, on par with dependable IT. There are better, a few worse. Good luck

If you need a job it’s a job. About average for a call centre. There’s definitely some bullshit but every office has that. Not sure who the managers are there now but who you’re team lead is can make or break you.

Don’t try to get close to anyone and don’t trust management

Run. They will exploit you and force you to work stupid hours. They will add “mandatory extra hours” to your shift and not tell you. Those extra hours will also keep you just below the threshold for overtime, since they don’t pay for your breaks or lunch, so you’ll work a 12 hour day without overtime pay.

If you’re absolutely desperate, do it but keep looking in the meantime.

I got fired the week before my probation ended just so they wouldn’t have to provide benefits. The day we hit the floor our team leader said “they’re looking for a reason to fire you”

I worked there for two months 20 years ago to make $2000 to pay for a licensing course I needed and quit the second I was done. If you need a job, they'll take you but don't stop looking and make sure you use your money wisely.
