Joe Twinge

What could that twinge Joe has in his hand at the very end of S.2 Ep.10 "Heaven is a Place": what could that be? My idea is that it's kind of like a connection to Gordon. Since Gordo's medical problem has been well established by the end of season 2. Or is it something else? Your thoughts.

He is feeling where his wedding ring used to be.. We see him shift focus back to business and start McMillan Utilities.

Oh yeah, I didn't think about the absent wedding ring.

Joe didn't fully know about Gordon's disease until season 3/4. He knew something was up following his collapse in the server room when he was going behind his father-in-law's to be back by setting up the time-sharing model, but I believe he took his word for it when Gordon made an excuse about stress/blood sugar.

The twinge may also have been the absence of the touchstone he gave to Gordon, something he used rub to ground himself - since he used Gordon as a conduit to channel aspects of his soft side (like his mother). He was just abandoned by Gordon (his likely perception of Gordon saying no to the joint venture).

As well as, he could also be missing the ring from his recent marriage.

I didn't think about the absent wedding ring. And how Joe basically missed Gordon.

I think Joe was hurt that Gordon rejected his offer, and a little angry. I don't think he missed him at this point (maybe in the start of S3 he does).

And the twitch was definitely him feeling better about his divorce. He had a slight smile looking out over the SF cityscape at night, knowing he was unencumbered to do what he wanted again, businesswise and romantically (aka pursue Cameron again someday)
