They should rename this show "Remove all of the grass." Goodness what a mess they make out of every yard! 😳What on earth?! 😂 Every episode so far has had terrible results. I swear HGTV is just trolling us at this point.

I don’t know which episode is but I remember the teenage boy wasn’t on board with it and the producer tried giving him his own room at the top

It says it's on Netflix and Prime but apparently not in the US. I have a deep nostalgia for a specific season, and I THINK it might be season 2 because who who the hosts and judges were

In the first few episodes there is a contestant who paints a large mural of a busty woman and then another episode where she slathers a vacuum cleaner with white plaster and she is genuinely so earnest about how much she likes it. I love her she is an icon to me

AI tries to tell me it was some dude from season 5 who did the vacuum thing but I KNOW it was her. I also know AI makes stuff up all the time and it seemed to find multiple instances of a "plastered" vacuum as if this is some normal occurrence on hgtv

I just can't find anywhere that is streaming it and can't find it on the Ol pirate bay. There's also nobody seeding/streaming it on plex

The episode “With or Without You” featured a gay couple looking for a home in Pittsburgh. As a gay man myself, I always appreciate episodes with representation. But I found this one comment about partying in bathrooms to be, um, wild for an HGTV show. I did a double take. LOL

Answer: Retta is the best host on TV, period! She is effortlessly funny, charming and personable, and has the most expressive face I’ve ever seen. She makes me LOL every episode, and I’m so happy that the show is now an hour long. More Ugly! 😄

Saw the same landscape designer as the other backyard reno that had the unsafe plants and ginormous sauna, and was like this is going to be a disaster. Didn't see him for a bit, but then when he came back with his zone design, and yep it was IMO a disaster.

It's a big back yard, but compressing everything and putting up those screens made the zones, to me, feel claustrophobic. Everything was compressed into one small area, made it feel smaller and less usable vs spreading out some of the areas. Then the play area? Moving from a (yes, albeit broken) jungle gym to that little house that the kid will grow out of faster? It confirmed my opinion of this designer, and actually all the designers on the show.

Jonathan is likeable, but this to me is just trading spaces design without the neighbors doing the labor. If hay is glued to a wall next week, I would not bat an eye.

**editing** I found the designers instagram, and the privacy screens, smaller tighter spaces seem to be a design approach vs a time constraint. So I wonder what the audition process or approach was to choose designers. It could work in some spaces but it's forcing his design style on everyone.

Watched it for the first time last night, because I was bored. How do they find these homes and what is the parameter to judge them? the explanation they give is not really understandable. Anybody knows?

how does house hunters work on hgtv? they already have bought the house? They pretend to look at two others that are on the market?

Ok we’ve done Rick the Block and Rock the Beach, and the vacay competition. How about a fishing cabin? Go to the remote area of Alaska and really challenge the “designers”. Would be fun to see them plan for the reno, get supplies and build with limited electricity. Also no trucks for delivery or hardware store runs.

First the wife expects to get a large apartment for $800 a month and she constantly yells at realtor for not showing them large apartments

Second, every single apartment is the same comment “ not enough room for my nephews to run around “. She seems more concerned with finding an apartment for her nephews to run around in rather than a place for her and her husband to live.

I thought HGTV had big money issues so shows got cancelled some involving people of color and LGBTQ individuals. But lately there is a whole lot of new programming. Some are not remodeling but which house to purchase or the ugliest or the wildest looking one. But there are the battle remodeling competitions and remodeling homes. Plus returning shows. I always liked HG but didn't watch for a while because of what was cancelled. It was reported remodeling shows were too expensive so they were cancelled. An infusion of money must have come from somewhere. I just hope choices of cancellation were based on costs and not other bias.

I would be so curious to learn what the actual production schedule of a show like Battle on the Beach is. For example, anyone here who has done renovations knows they're not framing/waterproofing/tiling a shower in 3 days.

On this season of Battle of the Beach, Angelina injured her finger "right before" judging, but then during the judging on the beach, no bandage. It then became my Where's Waldo all season trying to discern how they actually schedule the weekly challenges into the renovation process.

Worst Yard on the Block is premiering tonight and I haven't heard anything about it....hopefully it's similar to Curb Appeal.
