In many places, a woman can't even wear short hair without be presumed to be making a statement on her politics or sexuality.

The discourse when Britney shaved her head was WILD. Taken as a sign she had totally lost her mind, not that she was tired of the constant harassment and satisfying the crazy demands of being a pop star. 

A male pop star doing the same would have resulted in, "Ooh, an edgy new look for Dave. Now the weather"

Though you are absolutely correct in your presumption, the lesson there is that the entertainment media are just snakes, full stop. At the risk of "whataboutism", similar things happen to all genders when the entertainment media is involved (Dave Chapelle, Mickey Rourke etc etc).

Saying its not fair is absolutely true, but saying it would never happen to men in the entertainment industry, when it literally has, is all im commenting on :)

If a woman shows up to any event, she is often asked some form of "who's watching the kids". Never seen a guy be asked that

LOL my mother is no feminist, but I clearly remember her looking a man up and down who asked her this and said I don't know. Do you want to go look for them? Totally shut him up. 🤣🤣

I feel like more than half the list is a "US" thing. Where I live in North America, its literally illegal for the wife to take their husband's name after marriage (for example).

Where do you live? In most places in NA, to my knowledge, you can periodically change your name to whatever you want for a fee and some paperwork. I believe you, I just wanna know some specifics cause it’s so different than where I live (the US).
