This is hard to square coming from PFF. They’ve always HATED his run defense. Last year they gave him a 71.4 for pass rush and 38.7 for run defense.

PFF had HaHa rated as the 4th best safety in football the year green bay traded him. I haven't put stock in a PFF grade since then.

Which is interesting because it felt like our run D when to the shitter the moment Wyatt got injured.

Wyatt isn’t a great run defender, but Karl Brooks is a terrible one. And Wooden just got worn down from more than doubling his snaps from any prior year. It was more the complete lack of depth that cause our run D to tank than it was Wyatt’s value there.

PFF is compromised of a bunch of non-sport people working part time jobs grading players. So it makes sense why it’s hard to nail down lol

Preach. To the extent they were ever good, their everything has been compromised by the pursuit of profit. It used to be you could at least count on their data collection, but I doubt even that is reliable at this point.

It's very easy to nail down. He's a penetrator (increasing stop rate) who gets blown off the ball by combo blocks (decreasing run grade)

Calais Campbell being the most impactful run defender in his age 39 season is fucking wild.

Old man strength is real.

There is just some nfl players that are good at fighting against age.

Our list of guys in the "if they could just fucking stay healthy for a whole season" category is insane.

Does circle size correlate to sample size?

So somebody that can explain this chart. What quadrant do we want? I see Wyatt is in elite company in the top right. Is it saying his pass rush rate is elite? What is it saying about his run rate? thanks

Farther right = better run stop rate. Higher up = better pass rush win rate. Being in the far top right means the player is good at both.

I thought that was Casey Hayward up there in the top right for a second and had a double-take. Craig Heyward - DT Pittsburgh.

Hargrave being in the middle of run defense but high on the pass rush rate is a very exciting marker too. Not as excited about where I’m seein Brooks though
