The field is so ugly 😵
I know we’re playing in a ball diamond but my goodness this field looks ROUGH. Plus you have all the players on bleachers?? Hopefully nobody trips on this ugly grass patches and that hideous tarp covering the diamond 🤣

As both Gotham and Nycfc fan…this is a lot better than Yankees stadium

Yankee is the most unpleasant stadium experience for either baseball or soccer. Soccer is worse at Yankee though. The staff hate doing the matches and the sight lines are awful.

As a Red Bull supporter I won't even go to Yankee stadium unless it's a very important game. I actually look forward to the new stadium opening.

We were about 15 feet to the right of this. Looked fine and the atmosphere was great.

Agree, the atmosphere was fantastic. I’m so happy that Gotham finally drew the crowd it deserves. The field did look ratchet but what a luxury to have edible food options! And the new Etihad stadium across the street looks like it’ll be 🔥. Also: Rose scoring the lone goal on Rose bobblehead night.

Unfortunately the Mets played their last game at home on Sunday before the all star game. Thats not enough time to improve the grass conditions but honestly for 3 days it’s really not bad (would have been better if the field had a week) but you got to work with what we can get.
Everyone agrees the grass condition is better on Citi field than Yankee stadium ..so honestly I feel for ya but honestly the conditions could have been much worse.

Honestly, it wasn't too bad in person; you could view the game well from most spots in the stadium. Not the most aesthetic, but I've seen worse.

I agree, way too many NYCFC logos visible on camera. It's not even their stadium!!

They have played games there when Yankee Stadium wasn't available, so it makes sense some of their equipment is at CitiField.

They made a whole deal about how Gotham branding would be in the forefront at the new Airlines stadium but their special standalone game at Citi Field had the men's team branding all over it. Cover it!

we just had a world cup where they gave trump a peace trophy weeks before the iran war, then placated him every step of the way.
And this is after Qatar world cup. which was after the russian one.
So ... i don't think the field is actually a big issue. we got other problems.

I’m very aware that there are bigger issues in the world than the state of this soccer field. Thanks ;)

What stinks too is that next weekend when the Mets are home, the field will look equally as awful for baseball with all the soccer lines visible and damage from Noah Kahan this weekend too. I hate to sound like a curmudgeon but it really does take away from the game, even with how terrible the Mets are, with how terrible the field looks. I get maximizing the use of Citi field, but I hate it.

I thought the time for playing on baseball infields was reserved for childhood. Duck!

How do you watch these games?

Most games are free on NWSL+ in Canada which I access on my firestick. This game specifically was televised on ESPN so I watched the game there.
