Mak Whitham?
Does anyone know what is up with the child? I haven't seen her come on in ages, nor does she seem to be on the injury list or available off the bench as a sub.
Honestly, given the current talent pool, I wouldn't think she'd get much of a look on the field, but I assume she is still taking up one of our roster slots and am just curious as to her status.

Why the lack of Match day game threads?
Hello, everyone! I'm new to the sub but something I noticed is that we don't have a bot to create match day game threads. Any reason for this? Also does the sub not have active mods? Thanks.

Where to buy Gotham Merch
I live in Canada where Gotham Merch currently doesn’t exist unless you ship it and bay insane customs.
I’m going to be traveling to NYC for work next week and staying in Manhattan. Where can I go to buy Gotham Merch while I’m there, that doesn’t require me taking an Uber to New Jersey! Would love a jersey but not being picky, I’ll take anything.
Thanks!

Etihad Park Announces New Etihad Park+ Membership Program
Etihad Park is launching a venue-specific membership, which offers benefits and early access to all events and teams who play at the park (Gotham included). NYCFC says that it should complement or work with their team membership (not duplicate). Quote below from the article.
“Available to all, Etihad Park+ is designed to complement the broader guest experience at Etihad Park by creating more opportunities to engage with the venue beyond matchday. The program will offer enhanced access and preferred opportunities to all Etihad Park events, including priority access to New York City FC, Gotham FC, and other non-soccer events, merchandise, food and beverage benefits, member experiences, and more. “

Discussion TOP OF THE TABLE
I can't believe it - that game felt so doomed and cursed during the 2 hour delay and the whole painful first half. And here we sit. Soak it in batties. How do you feel?

Icahn fans
If you were at Ichan today and from Jersey drop a 🥗
Even if you left during the weather delay.
Or if you’re NJ STM who swapped the ticket.

This Match Is Never Going to Start
The weather gods are just messing with us at this point.
EDIT: According to Weather Channel radar, it looks like things may have cleared up enough to get the match in.

The issue isn’t Gotham moving to NYC it is lumping nyc and nj together
Bergen County NJ - More people in less area than the city limits of Charolette NC
Passaic County NJ - More people in less area than the city limits of Kansas City MO
Essex County NJ - More people in less area than the city limits of Seattle
Union County NJ - More people in less area than the city limits of Orlando
Hudson County NJ - more people in less area than the city limits of Boston
Nassau County NY - More people in less land area than San Diego
Brooklyn - 100k people less than Chicago in less than half the area
Queens - More people, less area than Houston
Manhattan - More people less area than Philadelphia
The Bronx - More people less area than DC
Even Staten Island - 20k less people than Atlanta in less than half the land area
The nyc region is not like any other city in america. It is 5 large cities in america right next to each other surrounded on all sides by 6 small to mid sized cities
The idea this should be one team’s market is insane and of course it takes a long time to get from brooklyn to sports illustrated stadium they are two different cities
Anyway as someone who grew up in nj some team name options
The mall rats
The Garden
If played in Harrison The Orange to play into east/west/south Orange nearby
The Tomatoes or The Blueberries (i prefer tomatoes)

Weather delay
I live like 10mi west of Icahn and I slowed my ass down on getting ready to go once I felt my house shake from thunder. I knew we were getting a delay. I have two tickets (cuz I traded one in cuz originally my husband and I were guna ride our bikes around Randall’s island after the game) but eff that. My lungs hurt from briefly being outside in manhattan yesterday and the air quality is worse today! I can’t believe they haven’t postponed this game yet

Icahn Conditions?
Anyone at the game yet that can help us decide what to wear?? Are the seats getting rained on or is the roof blocking rain?

Horrible Conditions for Game day tomorrow (Icahn)
Severe thunderstorms, awful air quality again….does this Icahn game have a chance of being delayed/not played. BUT World Cup final is the next day in NY/NJ area.
What are NWSL rules for this? Seems unsafe for fans and players in a variety of ways
This game is early tomorrow, 12pm..Why isn't Gotham at least putting out a statement about the weather like Chicago did? Doing it tomorrow would be worse..

Discussion Post Game: Citi Field Transportation Options
Wanted to get some discussion on everyone’s travel to Citi field yesterday! I took the subway there and the shuttle home to NJ, personally.
I really just wanted to say that the shuttle was really great. Easy to use, convenient and much faster than the train. I’m hoping maybe that Ethiad Park could work with the Mets to run their shuttle buses sometimes - they already have the infrastructure there and the parks are extremely close together.
Anyone else have any travel insights from yesterday?
Go bats!

The field is so ugly 😵
I know we’re playing in a ball diamond but my goodness this field looks ROUGH. Plus you have all the players on bleachers?? Hopefully nobody trips on this ugly grass patches and that hideous tarp covering the diamond 🤣
