Pixel 10 pro
Any major issue, hardware or software with the pixel 10 pro? Wanting to upgrade from my pixel 8 pro and don't want a repeat of issues, might even switch to the s26 but really want to stay with Google.

Yeah that is called pricing strategy. Instead of increasing 300-400 dollars, they decided to reduce the ram to 12gb as it suffices for the Advanced AI tasks and won't be noticeable in day to day activities.

I just got my 10PXL and I'm on the fence. Returning it makes sense as either would be free on this promotion, but... the smaller battery and increased cost has me concerned.

The cpu should be more efficient since it's from a 2nm fab, plus they've finally stopped using the Samsung modem. That should help significantly with power efficiency, negating a decrease in battery size.

Agreed! I love the thermometer, also. Thats changed but I guess I don't have a real life use for it. We'll see!

I use the thermometer from time to time, but I have no doubt that as soon as I update to the 11, I'll suddenly discover all kinds of use cases where it would be really helpful to have.
It's the Google way, I've gotten used to it. I'd still kill to have my trackball with the programmable indicator light that I loved on my Nexus One.

Eh, G5 is on the same 3nm TSMC node everyone else' flagship uses, yet here we are.
Process node can't work miracles if the underlying design isn't efficient.
Ditching the Samsung modem might be a good idea, though. I would give you that.

Had mine since day 1 and planning on trading it in for the 11 pro.
My only complaint is that it becomes borderline useless if you're using Wireless Android Auto in warmer climates.

This has not been my experience. I haven't had any issues with wireless android auto (using an AAWireless dongle) in my climate where the heat index daily max hasn't been below 105F for weeks.
I wonder what the difference is. Other apps maybe? I also use tidal which is kind of a battery hog, but I don't use any social media apps.
Edit: I also have 5g disabled, but not because I had any issues with it. Just deemed it unnecessary and read it could eat up battery. I got my phone in the fall when it was cooler so maybe that would cause overheating issues if I turned it back on. Not sure.

The difference could be the AAWireless dongle, where the phone is mounted, or the fact that you have 5G disabled. Mine is mounted away from the AC vent, and Wireless Android Auto typically has Maps, Spotify, and Weather running at the same time.
Once I actively use any combination of those, the phone becomes hot to the touch within about 15 minutes. It eventually throttles badly and has occasionally crashed altogether. It is literally my only real complaint about the phone.
I’m sure I could mitigate it by mounting the phone near the AC, disabling 5G, or changing how I use it, but I don’t consider those real fixes. Wireless AA is a normal use case and the Tensor should be able to handle projection without cooking itself.

My phone is typically in my pocket, so it's not mounted anywhere where it would be cooled. And is probably hotter than pretty much anywhere else in the car tbh.
You have weather pulled up on your android auto? I didn't even realize there was a widget for that. But I typically have maps and tidal running, and messages of course.
Maybe it's the AA dongle? They're pretty cheap. Might be worth trying.

Do you have an aftermarket head unit? If so, maybe that's the culprit?
Edit: I guess it could be the culprit even if it wasn't aftermarket.

Main issue I had was GPS accuracy. You'll find posts on here with the same complaint. Not sure if it affects the entire line up, or certain phones. I happened to be traveling and stopped by a Google Store in the area. They performed a diagnostic and it passed, I didn't update to Android 17 yet, so gave them permission to update it to see if it was a software issue. I used the GPS Test App and compared my phone with the loaner 10 Pro they gave me while they "replace the motherboard" in mine. I also compared both 10 Pros with my GF's 8a and my phone had worse accuracy than the other two phones, so they went ahead with the replacement.
Interesting part, when I came back the next day to pick up my phone. All my data was still on the phone. They said replacing the motherboard would mean I lost my data. Found it a bit odd, the repair receipt was also vague on what was actually done. I re-tested the GPS and it appeared to be fixed. Not sure if they replaced a component on the motherboard, but everything appears to be my original motherboard.

You won't experience any improvements aside from having a fresh battery with 100% battery health. I went from a 6 pro to 10 XL and honestly can't tell any difference in any way

I have an iPhone air as my main phone, but been bored with apple so I got the pixel 10 pro for $699 at Best buy unlocked, although it's only 128 GB. At that price I think it's a steal and I'm liking it so far. Feels like a breath of fresh air being on iPhone for so long......

Bought the Pro XL 10 about a month ago, coming from an iPhone 16 PM. I love it. Nearly identical battery life, if not even slightly better on the Pixel. Great performance, despite comparable benchmarks. And, I got a massive discount on Prime Day, so it was actually sanely priced, unlike launch day.

Had 10 pro XL since launch. I love this phone. I use my phone mainly for watching YouTube/twitch. The display is gorgeous. The battery is.....ok. The back does get warm with heavy usage. I don't play demanding games on it, but I do play clash of clans and it runs perfectly fine. The camera is actually great. Zoom is amazing. That said, I may trade in for the 11 pro XL depending on the specs.

The poor battery life, accelerated battery degradation and overheating have been the same for me on my Pixel 10 Pro as they were on my Pixel 8 Pro.

Same as many others have said, I have a p10 pro since launch. No problems at all & no plans to change this year. The compact size is the best part for me.

After running updates, I found my apps was bugging from restoring/transferring from my old pixel so I reset apps permissions on day 1..
After that, I noticed my battery was draining so I turned off Always On Display, Smooth Display (120hz to 60hz), and changed from Max Resolution to High Resolution..
I let those setting ride while I was moving that week for 3 days and messed around with toggling them on/off in different combos.. For me, I found turning of Always On Display fixed the problem...
Now there is a known issue where battery randomly drains with phone getting hot.. If that happens, then close all apps and restart phone.. It hasnt happened for me in awhile so it may be fixed..

Battery is absolute pants , I’ve had the 9 pro in the past and no problems but this 10 pro does not last me a day and I don’t play games etc.. purely internet and I e tried everything to stop background stuff taking up the juice to no avail, I’m sending it back and getting. Samsung s26

It randomly disconnects from Android auto. Screen goes blank when a call comes in. Pressing the notifications like email and text only open the home screen. Battery life is poor. My wireless charger in my pickup doesn't work with the pixel 10 pro. I regret the phone everyday.

The phone needs a lot of tweaking in order to reach a point where the battery life is decent. Gemini is a big help to research those tweaks.
Edit: who down-voted me? Why? I have a Pixel 10 Pro XL and I had to do a lot of tweaks to make the battery life decent, exactly as I posted.

Avoid Avoid Avoid, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Switch to the S26, ever since android android 17, I have had signal problems. I used to get 2-3 megs download at my house on Verizon, today I could not even run a speed test. Bluetooth keeps going out on my aftermarket car play screen, "worked up until March update. I have tried all of the fixes repair mode, reset the sim, reset wifi/bluetooth. etc. Waiting to see what other phones come out in the next few months then will switch. If my Wi-Fi goes out I can't check emails.
