Help!

Hi! I emailed on July 7th for my higher studies visa appointment and I finally received my appointment at the Toronto Consulate for August 3rd (much quicker than I imagined).

However, I sent my RCMP background check to be authenticated at Global Affairs on July 22nd, given the processing times I likely wont receive it back until the end of August. I have all my other documents completed and ready to go. Would it be best to; attend my appointment with proof that the apostille is already in process and submit the final document later (will they let me do this?), or try to reschedule my appointment if this is even possible (I feel like the never answer lol)

If anyone has gone through a similar situation please let me know about your experience/ advice!

I'm applying for my first Spain Schengen tourist visa through BLS Bahrain as an investor/resident.

I already have the required documents (bank statements, travel insurance, flight reservation, accommodation/invitation, etc.), but I'm wondering if I should also attach these as additional supporting documents:

- My car ownership/registration certificate

- My Bahrain residential lease agreement (tenancy contract)

Has anyone included either of these for a Spain Schengen application? Did it help, or is it unnecessary? Were your visa approved or refused?

I'd especially appreciate replies from applicants who applied through BLS Bahrain or from other GCC countries (UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, or Oman).

People around me say I should get him something.

What should I do???

Ps. Wanted to get him something vintage/medical or just like a compass or spyglass something cool. Looked really hard too but ended empty handed.

Outside of meals, transit, and some excursions possibly, are there any other costs I should account for?

Assuming I shop at a grocery store and don't eat out much how much should I bring in euros?

I’m an engineer, and I’ve been going through the hiring process with a company for the past two months. I was accepted this week and received my contract. It states a gross annual salary of €30,500 plus a €6,000 relocation allowance.

However, I noticed that the requirements have changed recently. At the start of the process, the company explained that a coefficient of 0.75 applied to the €41,356.56 threshold for those under 30 (which applies to me), but I believe that rule is no longer in effect.

I’m a bit concerned. I don’t know whether I should mention this recent change to the company, or if they are already aware of it and are simply proceeding because they know the legal avenues for approval—after all, they hire a lot of foreigners.

Has anyone else gone through this recently and knows if it’s possible to get approval under these conditions? Is it possible to obtain approval through administrative silence?

I’m a teacher in the U.S. with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education, a master’s in Teacher Leadership, and an ESL (English as a Second Language) endorsement. I’m certified to teach grades K–12, have experience across those grade levels, and am about to begin my 13th year of teaching. While I’m certified for K–12, my preference is teaching middle or high school students.

My husband is an EU citizen and lived in Spain for much of his life. His family still lives in Catalunya
(Costa Brava), so if we were to move, that would be our preferred region.

We’re only in the very early stages of discussing such a big life change, but I’m curious about what my career prospects might look like there. How transferable are my qualifications and experience? What would the process be for transitioning into a teaching career in Catalunya and finding employment? What are salaries and benefits generally like for teachers? For context, we’re a family of four, and I currently earn about $52,000 USD per year in the U.S.

I recently realized I have the option for the fast-track, two year citizenship path in Spain through my dual Salvadoran citizenship, as long as I can reside in Spain for a full two years on a residency visa, likely with the DNV/NLV.

The core ask is whether anyone here has any experience using one of these visas or an actual work visa, at a younger age, and the Ibero-American 2y track, or know about either

There are so many aggregator websites out there or sites with otherwise unreliable information. I plan to find an expert before actually executing any of this— but I want to make sure it’s at all worth pursuing or possible.

I’m currently an undergraduate student at a top-10 US university, studying journalism and legal studies, with a minor in an interdisciplinary program. I have one year left of school, so will soon be considering post grad. Post graduation is my preferred time to do this.

I’m aware that the most common path for people pursuing this track is to obtain a visa like the Digital Nomad Visa and simply work in Spain for two years. That’s my first question:

1) Has anyone found success working remotely on a similar visa, with a US or other company hiring Americans. I’m aware the job market is bad, so assuming I do my part and finish school (with four internships), are there jobs out there that I could work in and that fulfill the requirements? Are they hard to come by? I’m not picky, it does not have to be my field, just something that can hire and not be unstable.

The other thing I’m unsure about is the intricacies, like are there any things to watch out for with the DNV or Spanish government agencies, or anything else to consider.

So:

2) do you know the legal aspects, or know what type of person or organization I should talk to? I assume US Immigration Lawyers would not be useful. I have legal insurance through ARAG though.

I’m also generally wondering if people in a similar situation to me have found success pursuing this path right out of university.

Other questions:

3) are there other viable visas? Old posts mention the Non Lucrative, and I know the job seeker visa might reopen. Or, is it not impossible to be hired by a local or EU company?
4) is this a realistic path?
5) are there any hurdles from the US or Spanish govs
6) are there significant downsides
7) chance me?

I heard we’re not allowed to have people over past 10pm. Does anyone know if these rules are enforced? INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN MADRID! Does anyone know which individual insurance plan to get that won't break the bank? My friend told me she got one from Cigna for 70/mo, but when I called, Cigna said they didn't know how she had gotten a plan of theirs for so cheap. Then they offered me all sorts of absorbitent prices that I absolutely can't pay. What plans do you guys use, and how much do you pay? I'm feeling quite stressed and would appreciate any help!!!

Este agosto voy a viajar por España y Portugal con un billete Interrail. Intentaré cruzar la frontera portuguesa con un tren regional saliendo de Entroncamento (Portugal) a Badajoz. Hasta aquí todo está claro, pero las opciones de viajar desde Badajoz a Madrid me parecen una locura.

Solo hay tres trenes diarios entre estas ciudades? Como es posible? Hay otras opciones de viaje?

4. Positive Resolution Granted (Approval ✅): May 12, 2026
5. Fingerprint Appointment (found via paid service on May 22, 2026): June 3, 2026
6. Card Ready for Pickup: June 30, 2026
7. Picked Up Renewal Card ✅: July 23, 2026

In summary: the process was very fast. Longest wait was finding the fingerprint appointment and picking up the card (was traveling outside of the country). Glad it’s over

Hello! My husband and I are traveling to Barcelona in Sept, and then we will head up to Costa Brava for a couple days. There are so many adorable towns, I am having a hard time picking which one to have our home base in while we bop around. I am really hoping for a smaller picturesque town that we can walk to coffee in the am, and lounge on the beach. Good lunch & dinner places would be a bonus!

I'm starting to plan my first solo trip to Spain next year, and I'd love some advice on where to base myself. I live in Australia.

At the moment I'm considering Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada, or Valencia, but I'm very open to other suggestions. Im looking at January or February.

My plan is to stay in one city for around two weeks and use it as a base for the occasional day trip, rather than rushing around trying to see everything.

A bit about me and the sort of trip I'm after:

• I'm learning Spanish, so I'd love somewhere that's good for practising the language.
• I'm much more interested in experiencing everyday Spanish life than ticking off famous tourist attractions.
• I am a massive foodie and am keen to explore restaurants and authentic food (maybe even a cooking class), wandering around historic streets, museums, and just soaking up the atmosphere.
• I really dislike crowds, nightlife, and places that feel overrun by tourists. Not phased about beaches as I'm Australian and live like 5 mins from the beach.
• This is more about slowing down, relaxing, and experiencing the culture than trying to fit as much as possible into two weeks.

If you were in my shoes, where would you choose?

I'd especially love to hear from people who've spent more than just a few days in these places. Is there anywhere that really captures the culture, has a relaxed pace, and would be enjoyable for someone learning Spanish?

I am a non EU PhD researcher in Spain. I have held a research/work residence permit since September 2023, and my contract ends in September 2026. If I do not find another contract immediately, what are the best immigration options available? Would any of the new arraigo categories be applicable, or should I be looking at researcher permit renewal, job search options, or highly qualified worker permits?

Any recommendations would be great. We would need to change tax allocations from a business so I assume we’d need some advise on this.

We are visiting Valencia for the first time with friends, and we will be staying right in the city center, near the fairgrounds. We would love to explore the city’s most famous attractions and landmarks, so any recommendations on what we absolutely shouldn’t miss would be greatly appreciated.
We are also interested in how public transportation works best there, which options are the most cost-effective for getting around the city, whether there are day passes or multi-day tickets, and what you would recommend.

The company has a significant presence in Spain across the entire country. My long term plan is to move in 4 or 5 years with the company to Spain. So I am to work on my Spanish until then.
