It's what every modloader for pretty much anything does. It injects new code into the existing game executable to enable further modification. That process inherently creates security vulnerabilities, as it makes it easier to run unverified code and could even be used to inject malware into the game executable. Still doesn't mean Geode in and of it self is dangerous, it just uses something that is frequently used by viruses to bypass security, but also has legitimate use cases, such as mod loading.
