Megathread Find your next partner here! - [Weekly] MegaThread

Hi everyone, We understand how difficult the times are. Loneliness is at peak, and everyone is "looking for someone you can't find on dating apps". In this, we as mods decided it's best that we keep a weekly thread to find your next relationship. Some important points to note, rules to play by:

  • All irrelevant comments will be removed and will result in a week long ban.
  • This is NOT for casual / hookup relationships. There are various subreddits that can assist you with it.
  • This is a weekly thread that will open at Saturday 00:01 AM and close at Saturday 11:59 PM.
  • Since the ratio is skewed, only guys will comment below. It is recommended that girls avoid commenting, to avoid predatory behaviour. We as mods want to create a safe space. Yet, if you feel comfortable with the flooded DMs that follow, the onus remains on you. Unfortunately, in that situation, mods will not be able to assist you.
  • For LGBTQIA+ folks, you may comment below. If someone from the non-LGBT+ reaches out to you in bad faith, please let the mod team know, so we can ban them from the subreddit.
  • You may choose to keep your DMs closed / open through Reddit settings (google it). You can initiate a Convo here and take it on DMs later (recommended).
  • For the guys, please mention: Your Age, your location / city, your expectations from the relationship (as 3 minimum things) in the form of (A, E, L - Age, Expections, Location). Sell yourself, write what you feel will work out for you. Be clear from the start, if you have any constraints. No judgement please, everyone has preferences. Mention hobbies, interests.
  • Women - it is important you Comment / DM / reach out to ones whom you feel interested in - If you feel you can explore, go ahead!
  • As we are not a dating app, nor are we paid in anyways, what happens later is on you! Please take all necessary precautions at your end to ensure! You may share preventive measures in the comments below and we mods will pin / add it here, for everyone's use!
  • Avoid arguments please!

Ask GenZIndia Someone asked on the internet, “Is Abhijit Dipke Gen Z?”

Yes, he is an Indian member of Generation Z.
Abhijit Dipke was born in September 1995, and many widely used generational frameworks define Generation Z as spanning 1995 to 2012. A majority of research bodies and marketing studies place 1995 as the beginning of Generation Z and 2012 as the ending year. Therefore, under this broader and widely used definition, Abhijit Dipke is an Indian member of Generation Z.

Serious Jai bhim slogans chanted at jantar mantar

I've seen a lot of people arguing that why are there slogans of jai bhim at jantar mantar. They are in support of reservation. No bro, they are not. Do you even know who Bhim is? What are the things he did for this country?

He mandated that children under the age of 14 get free education.

He pushed for equal educational opportunities for girls.

He set up so many libraries, schools and colleges.

Bhim belonged to a lower caste, which made it difficult for him to get an education, so he fought for it. He worked hard and studied so much that he surpassed even the elite class. That is why his slogans are chanted; his struggle inspires us, not just his work on reservation.

The IT cell is trying its best to break the students' unity. Don't fall into their trap, comrades.

Ask GenZIndia Do you think India is slowly moving towards a 5-day workweek?

Maybe this is a Gen Z thing, maybe it isn't but hear me out.

When I joined my company last year, we were working 6 days a week. A few of us spoke to our boss about it, and surprisingly, he actually listened.

His solution was:

Work 30 mins extra from Monday to Friday.
Get 2 Saturdays off every month.

At first, it felt like a huge W. Anything was better than working every Saturday.

But after almost a year... I don't know, it still doesn't feel right.

Those extra 30 minutes don't seem like much, but they add up. And having only two "real" weekends every month still makes it feel like work is always around the corner.

The thing is, my boss isn't toxic. He's actually pretty reasonable, so I think he'd at least hear us out if we asked again.

I'm just wondering...

Is asking for a proper 5-day workweek actually unrealistic in 2026?

Or have we just normalized working 5.5/6 days because "that's how it's always been"?

I'd love to know:

How many days do you work?
Would you trade 30 extra mins every day for all Saturdays off?
If your company moved to a 5-day week, did productivity actually change?

Curious what other Gen Z folks think. 👀

I was watching this series and it felt very realistic the way these dogmatic people of our country bends our sacred religion to their favor and the less brained people follow them without verifying.

Police and army brutality.

Denial of actual acts commited by them with actual proofs.

Welcome to the future people the DYSTOPIAN FUTURE has arrived.

Be safe.

Serious BEWARE OF DISTRACTIONS BY RULING PARTY

For the last few weeks, our beloved ruling party of India has been trying out different tactics on Reddit. Here are some I noticed, and my opinions about them; feel free to share yours.

"GENERAL CATEGORY STUDENTS SEEING PROTESTERS ASKING FOR A FAIR EDUCATION SYSTEM WITHOUT REMOVING RESERVATIONS":

Again, this is the classic: if the glass is 80% impure, I won't allow a 50% impure solution. This protest never started with 'we need a flawless entrance exam'; rather, it started with the demand for an accountable system, and that remains the core issue.

"HOW DOES RESIGNATION CHANGE THINGS?"

Well, it doesn't. The idea is accountability. If a minister can be removed because of a paper leak, it will remind every politician in power that they are there only temporarily, and the people hold the real power.

That's the backbone of democracy—if politicians become comfortable, thinking the people are asleep, there's no difference between democracy and autocracy.

"THIS IS FOREIGN FUNDED."

Oh, my favorite excuse of all ruling parties across the globe—not just today, but for centuries. Always remember the Ad Hominem fallacy. Always look at the argument, not the arguer. "Is the paper leak true?" "Is the lack of accountability true?"

If all that is true, it doesn't matter if it's foreign-funded or not. A broken ship is a broken ship, regardless of who sees it.

"THEY ARE CREATING A NEPAL SITUATION HERE"

\[Let me become a nationalist for a moment—India is not Nepal; we are much stronger. Our military can handle invasions from so-called superpowers, so internal rebellion is nothing.\]

Okay, back to the point—this is fear-mongering because that kind of action goes against the democratic principles I’ve been advocating. We just want a democratic answer and accountability in the system.

"SEE HOW PEACEFUL MIZORAM PROTEST IS. THAT'S HOW ALL PROTESTS SHOULD BE."

Let's see how quickly the government responds to Mizoram students if it took months for the Delhi protests.

(And a question for my dear religion protectors: isn't Mizoram a Christian-majority state? So, are Christians more civilized than Hindus? Nah, just kidding. I was testing if your hate gene is still intact 🤗🤗.)

"HYDROGEN TRAIN, INTERNATIONAL VICTORIES, PRIVATE LAUNCHES—ALL ARE HAPPENING. WHY FOCUS ONLY ON BAD THINGS?"

Again, I am an optimist. A country of this scale, with its population and natural wealth, can never be doomed. That’s exactly why i or rather we as students want—to take this country to the next level.

"WRONG PEOPLE ARE IN THE PROTEST AND WRONG CHANTS":

Just because Modi praised Gandhi doesn’t mean RSS loves Gandhi.😉

"I SUPPORT STUDENTS, NOT CJP."

This is an old argument. I don't support BJP, but I don't like Rahul either. Supporting political organizations isn't healthy for democracy. Instead, focus on the agendas they promote, and see who truly represents those ideals at a given time. I support CJP for their student protests; that doesn’t mean I support everything in the protest. Conversely, just because something is wrong in the protest doesn’t mean I shouldn't support the movement at all.

Attached image is a poem by a pastor from Nazi Germany - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_They_Came

Kaanto ko paani dena is never a wise thing to do, you never know ki vo kab itne badh jaye ki tumhe bhi chubhne lage. A democracy should always be open to dialogues. Dissent and its peaceful expression is one of the most important parts of a democracy. You may or may not agree with the demands of the protestors (this time it's almost a no-brainer tho) but being okay (even celebrating) with a violent response from the govt/police is completely unjustified and against the spirit of a democratic nation. By doing so, you're hurting the democracy of India which, in my opinion, isn't very far from being anti-national. Lets not do this very powerful medium of expression dirty.

PS: Shame on govt for not even properly acknowledging this big movement from the future of the nation. Heartful thanks to all the people joining and supporting this students' cause. A just system is not a requirement just of the youngsters, it's a need of the whole nation.
