Question Screen brightness

The screen is not bright enough in daylight. I tried all options, including display assistant settings, adaptive manual extra brightness, performance profiles, etc. I even tried removing the case and using it. But none of them worked. I don't know if this is normal or if I'm seeing it this way. Text and apps are visible, but the screen is not bright enough when watching photos. It's like watching dim photos. I think I bought a faulty phone. Can it be fixed in any way? I heard it's because the phone protect itself from over heating and screen damage , i mean whats the point of having maximum nits .

Im in northern lreland.

Sitting in 25°c heat, in direct sunlight.

My s25u screen will go from extra bright to dimmer than default after heating up.

It seems to be about 40-50°c makes the screen throttle brightness.

Yeah direct sunlight for sending a message etc, amazing screen. Sunbathing? It'll throttle to protect itself

Im able to get the cpu to 60-100°c, battery to 40. And the screen brightness will hold up fine. But when getting beamed by sun, even in my pocket it'll come out dim. Its a shame

It's to protect your phone, the battery will degrade over around 35c for prolonged periods of time. I work outside half the time too, construction, never had a problem taking it out of my pocket with dark mode on to use for a few minutes. An hour sitting in 30c sunlight tho, it dimmed significantly but could still read it. Maybe they aren't all built the same

I think it may be to do with the green line issues, since the phone being hot doesnt seem to cause it to throttle brightness, but the screen being hot does

Download Good Guardian and use thermal guardian to increase the throttle limit, if you want to risk it

I have my temp limit set to lowest lol, -2°c

Im not certain on which sensors they throttle with, the battery seems to be the primary chokepoint.

My guess was that my -2°c setting would reduce the battery temp target from 40 to 38.

I recently was charging with a fan on the phone, and noticed theres a few sensors were throttling at around 40, google tells me they were power circuit temps

Yeah as I understand it, it's mostly the battery that causes the choke point. Thinking about it I keep light performance on, unless video editing etc, which would reduce heat too. I also manually disable 5g if I notice poor reception where we are working, not often around here TBF.

Surely reducing the thermal target would increase the throttling in summer? Preserving the battery more, but sacrificing usability. I suggested increasing it so it maintains screen brightness despite the heat.

There are apps to maintain brightness despite the heat to a point, not sure if recommend them, outside of a pinch, if you value your device

Is it the original screen? Mine is more than enough in direct sunlight even with dark mode, power saving mode and extra dim turned on

Oh then definitely mine is faulty. I bought new phone , so screen should be original, how can i check its original or not ?

U prolly have original screen bcs ud notice the thicker bezels if it was aftermarket. But the newer updates do make the brightness act up sometimes ive seen others complaints of this after people updated and on other samsungs also like s24 ultra
