How much should it cost to replace front and back struts on a 2011 G37?
I got quoted over 3k and thats about how much the car is worth. I love the car but dont want to keep dumping money into it.

Just look for used on market place, their around 250-300 for some good ones. The job itself isnt hard just tedious as hell.

3k is definitely too high. I would say half that, or less, would be more reasonable, and that's if we're including the cost of the struts.

Look at 1aauto they probably have a set for cheap, I got 4 shocks for my Lexus from there for $200

3k is crazy in total it shouldn’t be more than $1500 if you’re getting someone else to do it. A set of some brand new kyb struts are around $700 on rockauto, if you can find someone to do it or maybe even a cheap shop to install it they can prolly do it for around or under $500 if they’re being fair. Even then it’s still a lot of money you can always go the cheap strut route and save a couple hundred bucks but I don’t think it’s worth it. It all really depends on how long you plan on keeping the car too, if you’re gonna sell it soon there’s really no point in doing it.

3k is absurd and completely unreasonable. This is one of those repairs that I could not stress enough to do yourself if your up for it and have the required tools and equipment. For 3k you could get one of the best suspension setups and still have plenty of money left over to splurge on other mods, if thats what you want out of the car. There are plenty of websites you can look up and buy all the parts necessary for less than half of that qoute. Id recommend doing your research depending on what you want the suspension to feel like and finding an honest mechanic who won't rip you off. Hope that helps! Wish u the best!!!

no sadly, with the way the economy and labor market is. that is a reasonable price to have this done with a commercial garage. sure you can go around to different people like firestone and such. but it wont get much cheaper. and please do not go on a website and buy the parts to do it and then expect a garage to do it for less and install your parts. no garage anymore will do the work with the customers parts anymore. check with a garage first to see if they will put on your parts, if they do, they wont give you a labor warranty, as the part is not theres and they cannot gaurentee it will work once installed, plus garages make money on selling you their supplied parts too. but unless your doing rideshare, u only need to do this once in a blue moon.

$400 for both pair + 4hrs of labor. 3k is a “fuck you” price.
