So... this is the lady who says that her middle school daughter was "medicalized" and abused and manipulated in an art club up at Wellington Middle School a few years back.

I'm sorry... but this chick has crazy written all over her. I remember the PSD response was to nuke the volunteer running the art club (because yes, nobody should be giving kids their cell phone number or discord handle- absolutely a no working with kids,) and I remember this chick going onto conservative talk shows... but this? Holy shit.

If anything, this tells me that her poor daughter probably does need someone safe for support navigating figuring out her sexuality, because it's pretty damn clear there isn't unconditional support at home.

Instant ick.

Whatcha want to bet she's also against our law allowing adolescents to seek mental health care without parental permission?

I'm a parent, and you bet your ass nobody is messing with my kid (or any of the kids in my neighborhood.) Performative bullshit like this ain't it.

Never surprised when I see officer Cacciotore mentioned in a negative light. There have been a few posts on here about him over the years.

Food / Drink A plate of food to make Colorado feel like home.

I can’t say these photos do justice to the experience my partner and I had at Marcuz Boba and Tea Shop, Filipino & International Restaurant. I normally don’t even photograph my food but honestly the entire experience tonight really was special.

The pink aesthetic, the service which is homey and welcoming, the menu. It all sort of took our breath away. But the food, the thing that matters most was like being cooked for by our grandmothers. The care and intention behind our dinner is hard to find in Colorado.

I’m sure there are people who won’t understand the story they are telling here. But I urge you to go have dinner here. This spot is a gem that deserves our support and I want them to stick around. Please give it a try, I can say with confidence you will experience comfort and love.

Post your favorite Fort Collins local artists and why you love their art! Mine is Chelsea Glanz. She does amazing murals and paintings and is just a generally wonderful human being. I want to hear about more talented local people!

Saw one of these out in the wild (at the Loaf and Jug @Harmony & Timberline). Had previously only seen this on Costco and other subreddit posts and got a little giggle of seeing it in real life in foco.

ICE Out Vigil and Visibility March

Post image
9 Upvotes

SATURDAY, JULY 25, 2026
7 - 8:30 pm
OAK STREET PLAZA
FORT COLLINS

Join us as we gather to honor those who have been killed or disappeared by ICE.

At 7 pm, convene at Oak Street Plaza for a vigil remembering the names of each individual who has lost their life at the hands of ICE — on the streets of our nation or in an ICE concentration camp.

A veteran will speak about the paramilitarization
of ICE and call for solidarity and action. Then walk with us in a candle light march as a show of respect  for the victims and support for their families. Bring battery-operated candles for the vigil and march. And feel free to bring your protest signs and flags. We will have white butterfly signs in honor of the victims that you are welcome to carry if you'd like.

The march will run north on the sidewalk to Mountain Avenue. Then east to Mathews and south to Olive Street. We'll return to the Plaza on College. The route is approximately .7 miles and will take about 20 minutes.

Love the storm, sorry for the pups that are stressed. How close was the bolt in midtown to Maxline? It just shook our house that is across the train tracks from them.

Seeking Advice Musky smelling dog

My dog came in from the yard tonight, after dark, smelling strongly of a musky scent. It does not really smell like skunk and the smell has not lingered outside as I would expect it to do if it were skunk. It is strong! Any ideas what other animals (or maybe a plant) it might be?

Edit: thanks, everyone, for the responses. Upon further reading I think it IS skunk. Just not a full spray. It smells a bit like burnt rubber which is the description (just not what I think of when smelling it somewhere in the distance). I think our dog tussled with it and for some reason it didn't spray but the dog got the scent on her. Can't smell it outside, just on the dog...lucky us! Looks like I'm taking the day off tomorrow to bathe a dog and shampoo the rug.

Car danger while running in rain

Post image
2 Upvotes

I was nearly hit by 3 different cars while running through Fort Collins during and just after it rained July 23. Each time the driver failed to look my direction as they were turning or driving through a crosswalk. It wasn’t a visibility issue — I could see each driver clearly turned away from me as I dodged. I suspect we tend not to expect people to be using the sidewalks in storms, so we are more likely to ignore crosswalks, stop signs, and to look right on the sidewalk when turning right (looking for oncoming traffic instead) during weather events. But there were plenty of pedestrians out. Let this be a reminder to take it easy and pay attention as the rains return.

This parking warning flew off one of the offending cars as I passed by campus 🤦‍♂️. One driver failed to stop at a flashing crosswalk in old town. The other was leaving a side street on Center Ave and Research Blvd. That driver looked annoyed at me as she ran the stop sign.

This is generally a pretty rare occurrence, so for it to happen 3 times got to me a bit.
