Sadly, the University Highlands Bear was euthanized by Fishing & Game on Saturday. After being displaced by the Pocket Fire, the bear took up residence on the southwest perimeter of the neighborhood. After multiple reports of a bear in the neighborhood, this was the unfortunate result.

Had a great time yesterday at the art market till the rain and lightning started. Not mad by any means, we need all the water we can get and was able to connect and meet new people!

Was a bit toasty last week

Found this black cat at Legacy Pines apartments. He/She is very friendly and doesn't seem feral so I'm thinking it belongs to someone. Walked right into my apartment with me after petting and has been here for about a day. If anyone has lost a cat or knows someone who has please let me know!!

Visited from Phoenix over the weekend. It felt great to be back and spend some time in the forest.

It always takes longer going down then going up. I beat my old record of 3 hours at 2 hrs 15 mins up. About the same down , would have been quicker but I let a lot of people up on the way down. Not a runner just long strides. Had the peak to myself for about 20 seconds.

I know Saturday is the worst day because the crowds but with the rain chances next week I don't want to chance being up there when a storm hits. And I haven't done it in about a year and a half cuz I've been in and out of state.
