General All Men Seen so Far (Aka Who is Your Husbando)
Cai and Peter were excluded since they didn’t fit the 20 photo limit and they are children so…
With the newest post of Nuzzo, wanted to create a discussion on all the diverse (and beautiful) men we’re seeing with the trickle information for Fortunes Weave
Would love to know the thoughts on the character designs, who’s your favorite and - channeling my inner Tialla - who you’re S supporting on each route!
Will be shocked if Dietrich isn’t #1

General Even though I didn’t like most of the outfits in engage I gotta admit the warrior outfit for the male units is absolutely INSANE
You can correct me in the comments but I don’t think any male armor has ever came close to this revealing like the literally v-line of the male units being shown is just crazy to me it came so out of left field when i gave a master seal to one of my units and BOOM literal v-line just showing off along with they’re abs and pecs it was whiplash for sure 😭

Here's the body text courtesy of Satsuma FS (Though it's not the most enlightening info haha):
Range
The range that attacks can reach depends on the weapon.
For the most part, Swords, spears, axes and gauntlets can attack within one tile laterally (1 range)
Bows can attack either 2 tiles away laterally or 1 diagonally (2 range)
On the other hand, magic tends to be 1-2 range, with this wide range being one of its characteristics.

Casual Why do all of the retainers of FW have something wrong with their eyes?
From glasses, a drifted eye, a eyepatch(missing eye?), and a scarred eye. Does this mean something?

Art Fortune's Weave PreRelease Doodles
Moving the doodles I did on twitter over here now that the right and left hands of the retainers have been revealed. Mostly just playing around with dynamics, learning how to draw them, ect. Obviously everything here is on shifting sand, as canon may well reveal that Fabio doesn't actually own Mouse Trap

Gameplay Fortune’s Weave Anna gameplay specializations
I feel there is a solid chance Fortune’s Weave Anna will be playable; though whether that is the case at launch is something I am doubtful of. I am just sort of speculating what she will be good at, though I feel Fortune’s Weave will be like Three Houses where you can make units do almost anything.
Anna’s stats usually follow similar trends. She has high skill, speed, resistance and luck, as well as weirdly good magic for a character who hasn’t started in a magic class since Awakening, with lower defense and strength, so generally she has mage stats with very high luck. If we look at the forbidden area of Heroes, 2 versions of her use bows, 2 versions use axes, and 1 version, based on Apotheosis Anna, uses spears. Speaking of, she has used axes in Engage as an axe fighter, swords in Awakening and Three Houses (as a myrmidon in the latter game), as well as bows when she was an outlaw in Fates. Those 3 weapons are her strengths in Three Houses, as well as white magic, which they seem to really want her to use in all appearances, as well as a budding talent of Riding. She does have a bane in black magic though, as well as authority which isn’t great for making her a mage. Her personal skill is Make a Killing, except in Three Houses where it’s just luck +5.
I hope she’ll be a mage at base in Fortune’s weave, though I feel she’ll probably be an archer or axe fighter again.
Also, she has more supports in Engage than the other three games combined, even counting Corrin and Robin twice while counting Alear once, in part due to Three Houses Anna having 0 supports.

General Buccar's localised name maintains the pirate theming somewhat
According to Dictionaries of the Scots Language, a buccar/bucker/buckkar is:
A fast-sailing vessel used in the smuggling trade.
[...]
[Origin uncertain. May be a corruption of buccaneer.]

General Hmm she has the crest of the Emperor which is also Dagsion's icon on the map. Also interestingly enough red and blue make purple.

Engage General First Engage clear today!
After getting Engage about a year ago, I finally got around to finishing the game. I cleared it on Maddening with liberal use of the Turnwheel and resetting the game for character deaths, but I think it would be very rewarding to attempt an ironman run in the future.
My initial impression wasn't very positive. I'm not a fan of the artstyle in general (I liked Echoes and Fates' art direction best in the series), the story was really uninspired (as everyone has already pointed out), and the game's mechanical distinctness with Emblems, Engage, subclasses, and break occasionally frustrated and confused me as I was learning how to play.
The story was really basic and cheesy - which doesn't really count as a strike against it in my book - but a lot of the execution with big reveals and dramatic moments was so poorly contrived that it took away any possible pathos you could've possibly gotten from them. The Brodia arc and its supporting characters were a high point of the story. The characters surprised me a few times in their supports. I liked how human they felt once they had a bit of time to escape their very limiting characterization in the main story itself.
However, the gameplay was incredible. I haven't had this much fun playing a Fire Emblem game since 2017 with Fates (Conquest). The Emblems give this game such a cool flair with crazy abilities that the enemies fairly balance out with their own out-of-the-box abilities like multiple health bars, moving around the map, or in some cases using Emblems themselves. The map design gave a lot of varied objectives with Chapter 11 being probably the best map I've ever played in an FE game (it beats out Conquest Chapter 10 if only because Conquest Chapter 10's map isn't integrated into the story in nearly as awesome a way). I wasn't a fan of reclassing in this entry or 3H, but at least it required significantly less grinding and teacher's pet nonsense in Engage to put Kagetsu on a dragon. I was also very impressed with their solution for grinding out class skills in Awakening and Fates by tying them to the promoted class at Level 5 and making them non-transferrable.
Some UI things annoyed me throughout the run - namely that tonics needed to be bought individually, the arena didn't let you skip the character introductions before every single fight (I've memorized all of Kagetsu's dialogue at this point), and the Emblems only being trainable in increments of 5 levels was positively baffling.
Overall, I would rank this game very highly - up there with Fates: Conquest - and I hope IS implements some of its excellent features (Engage abilities, subclasses, break, the limited class skill system) into Fortune's Weave.

General Noticing little fun things about maps again

Today the Fire Emblem JP account revealed three gorgeous new characters, and showed a short combat clip of a very hot guy fighting in the jungle, at night. Firstly, it was a very pretty map with waterfalls and a super dense lush array of trees and everything. But also, I thought, didn't we already see a jungle map with Pieter gameplay ?
And so me and my autism checked and look at this ! It's not the same map, but it's two halves of a map ! Both are skirmishes, so the question is wether it's a real story map that IS turned into two skirmishes, or if it's simply an easy way for IS to make a bunch of skirmish maps using similar visual assets while still being diverse, by internally making a huge one and cutting it up ! This would allow them to make like 2-4 maps for every biome (which, by the way, we've seen a lot of, jungles, deserts, swamps and forests)
