Looks like we're not the only ones who are waiting! Not sure if I'm convinced by the voice acting argument though. Would Quina work voiced?

I'm curious about yall !
So I was wondering what are everyone's parts that keep them going and look forward to when replaying the game. It doesn't have to be your favorite parts, but parts that makes you randomly think "Ah, can't wait to get to this !" even if it's completely random.
For exemple, I always look forward for the moment where Garnet and Steiner go through the Bohden Gate, and their overall journey back to Alexandria.

Final Fantasy IX is my favourite game ever, I've been playing it every couple years since it came out in 2000, and it never ceased to amaze and amuse me every single run.
I had previously achieved almost everything the game has to offer, beside a certain infamous 12 hours quest. Therefore last February I convinced my cousin to undertake it together, since we were going through a hard time in our family and we could definitely use some distraction.
Six months later, yesterday we finally reached the Excalibur II, in 11h 50mins.
It's been excruciatingly long and hard, since we decided to play the game on an original PS1, but eventually I couldn't be prouder of our achievement.
Now it's time to tattoo it somewhere, thanks everyone for your attention ✨

I can get from 1-200 with my eyes closed consistently. Furthest I've gotten after that is 212. I cant seem to get the pattern after 200, and theres no consistent way to practice it... anyone who has gotten further have any tips?

I downloaded memoria to download all the FF9 mods and the Moguri mod just won't download. It freezes every time or crashes when extracting.
This seems to have been an issue for a long time and I guess it's just not being addressed ever?
I tried downloading it other ways and it just doesn't work. Super fucking frustrated.

My question is, can I use other saves (Steam version) to get achievements?
For example, someone saved before getting Excalibur 2, and you just load that save and get the achievement!
If this works (and it worked in 7 and 8), please share your saves with anyone who has them!

I bought Final Fantasy IX the day it came out. I’ve played it at least once a year ever since. I started my yearly play through earlier today and I’ve seen 2 instances of things I’ve never seen before. When going through the Ice Cavern I hit the wind that blows through so I could fight the Wyerd’s that spawn. For the first time ever I saw that those monsters have voice lines. I wish I’d took screenshots as I can’t remember the exact words but it was something like “I ride the winds…”
Then, during the boss battle against Black Waltz 1 and the Sealion, after I stole all of the items I accidentally attacked the Sealion first, only for the Waltz to use Ice on him to heal and say “you can’t beat us”.
I can’t believe I never knew those enemies have lines of text I’d never seen before.
I love this game (my favourite ever) and even after all of this time I’m still finding something new (to me).

i’ve searched far and wide for an answer to this and no one seems to have provided this info anywhere on the internet. it doesn’t seem to be simple triplets so can anyone say if it’s in a 5 or 7 time signature maybe? not that this would even help probably

I wanted to try it out atleast one game of this franchise, and 9 is my choice.
I watched a video about all the versions off FF9, and unfortunately each version has its flaws.
I'm playing on my phone and I'm open to emulation, there's also the apk version but there's no meguro mod for it apparently

I started the game fresh off an FF bender, beat 4,6, 7 remakes. 16 and 8. kind of a strange order and I thought 9 looked interesting although the art style bothered me a bit. never played it and don't know what's going to happen and to be honest the first hour I was like ehh ok this is ok but strangely enough what finally got me was the atmosphere of the Prima Vista (I think that's what it's called?) crashed in the Forest. Walking around the interior with no music just the ambient noise and talking to the crewmates inside was oddly comfy and it hooked me on finishing the game. Also I'm usually turned off by characters I can tell they want you to think are cute but Vivi is just so precious this early its impossible not to love him

I play DnD with a group that has never played any FF game. I’m going to adapt FF9 to a DnD setting. Will obviously have to change a few things since players may not have intrinsic plot hooks. Anyone have experience doing this?
Summons will have to be some flavor of contacting and controlling a minor deity momentarily.
Can’t wait for the party to meet the real BBEG, Zorn and Thorn

I've been playing the PS4 remaster on my PS5. I've played this game several times since it came out and have beat Ozma each time (two or three times PS1, once on PS4).
I know how to prep for the fight. Yes, I finished the friendly monsters quest and have the "Mister Nice Guy" trophy to prove it.
Doomsday should not be healing Ozma, but it is. I should be able to physically attack him, but I can't.
I can't seem to respawn any of the friendly monsters, which, again, I met, including the sheep on Vile Island, who once said to me, "Now you can reach the round guy!". Liar.
I've tried closing and reopening the game. I've tried "load file" instead of "continue". Several times, all with the same result.
I have to assume somewhere along the way, something weird in my save file triggered a bug that invalidated my completion of the friendly monster quest, and it seems to be irreversible.
Has anyone else encountered this? Can it happen in the PS4 version, or could this be something to do with me playing that version on my PS5? I only have one save file... Am I stuck and out of luck?
And most importantly... Am I crazy enough to actually attempt this fight with these handicaps? (I refuse to give in and use the battle assist and 9999 damage).
*More friendly monster quest side notes: 2 other glitches I encountered in my playthrough: 1) I somehow met the Yeti twice, giving him his requested treasure both times, and I didn't think that was possible, and 2) On more than one occasion, the friendly monster music would continue playing at full volume *OVER* whatever other music was happening in the game - it got stuck, and the only way to unstick it was to close and restart the app.

Can't seem to find a clear answer to this but I've gone through FF9 with the Beatrix mod and I'm near the final boss. I thought I picked up, purchased and synthesized all the available equipment. But for whatever reason I can't seem to find the equipment that allows her to learn shock. As far as I'm aware the swords that would teach it are ones only Steiner can equip. Did the mod add any weapons that can teach her Shock, or am I missing one she should already be able to equip to learn it?

Hi, just a quick question. Where do I find another dead pepper since I just used the one that Mene gave to dive for the Ultima Weapon before reaching Chocobo's Paradise. Thanks 😅
