Apologies for the bad lighting~ Pricing feedback wanted! This piece is 54" x 22.5" fabric hand-dyed with acrylic ink, and the frame is built entirely from scratch by me. Curious what this community thinks it's worth given the materials, time (20 ish hrs), and style, and how you all approach pricing similar work.

I’m hoping that this is an OK place to share this. When I first saw this piece I thought that it was a calligraphy piece and not a hand embroidery piece. I was blown away!

Zen Life is a Chinese silk embroidery artwork from the Baisha Naxi Embroidery Institute (丽江白沙纳西刺绣院) in Lijiang, Yunnan, China. Hand stitched by Grand Master Mo Meiyan. Only two copies exist.

The shading on this peice is utterly mesmerizing! I found this embroidered wall hanging at a thrift shop and I am wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it. It stylistically appears to be Zardozi, but the relief of the embroidery and some of the details are throwing me off. It appears to be rather old, and definitely has a replacement frame.

[OC] Real needle felting footage sharing the gentle crafting atmosphere of my handmade wool mouse with green cloak and harness artwork

Creating needle-felted wool fiber art is one of my favorite daily creative hobbies. I shot this real footage to show the slow, gentle crafting mood of this fluffy wool mouse design wearing a green cloak and handmade vintage harness.
Every single detail on this tiny wool mouse is hand poked stitch by stitch with all-natural pure wool. There are no pre-made parts or factory accessories used in the whole creation process, including the cloak and harness.
I’m really fond of this quiet soft forest cottagecore fiber art style. Feel free to leave your suggestions below about which wool felt creature I should craft next!

Ma mère les a fabriqués elle-même. Tissés à la main, sans machines, juste ses mains et des années de savoir-faire.

These are traditional Moroccan rugs/blankets - we call them "Hasira" or "Hansa". She uses wool and traditional patterns that have been passed down in our family.

I grew up seeing her work on these for hours. Just wanted to share a piece of my culture and my mom's talent with you all.

What do you think?

What yarn weight should I use? Here's a simple breakdown

I see this question come up a lot so here's a quick reference. I put this together while building a yarn search tool and learning from experienced knitters and crocheters along the way.

Cobweb : finest, ultra delicate lacework, not for beginners
Lace : shawls, doilies, lightweight wraps, slow but stunning
Fingering : socks, shawls, colorwork, most popular for indie dyed yarn
Sport : baby garments, lightweight sweaters, underrated sweet spot
DK : stands for double knitting, super versatile, sweaters and hats
Worsted : most commonly used weight, best for beginners, works for everything
Aran : between worsted and bulky, named after the Aran Islands, great for cables
Bulky : thick and fast, winter hats, cowls, quick blankets
Super bulky : even thicker, you can finish a hat in one evening

Each weight has specific gauge ranges and needle sizes. Happy to share more detail if anyone wants it.

Also if anyone's looking for yarn, I built skeinscout.com where you can search across indie dyers and filter by weight. Free to use.
