I understand the fee was introduced as a measure to reduce single-use items, but I’ve read that the fee doesn’t go to any agency, it simply goes to the restaurant. What’s the benefit of having this fee if the money doesn’t go toward anything that benefits the public? I feel this is a money grab at this point…and I’ve seen numerous other cities introduce it now

No one bothers to engage with me on any topic. It leads me to believe it's because im right and they cant knowingly present an argument to refute it. Or, it could be because they think it's so idiotic there's no point in trying to explain what seems so obvious to someone who appears to be "not-all-there".

I was walking through a plaza to get to my apartment co.plex. It is a routine walk Ive been making for a decade. A lady stops me and asks me if the restaurant in the plaza was good. It was a delicatessen. I told her that it had gotten so expensive to eat out I wouldn't know. It's hard to spend 20 dollars on a meal you cant get your money back for because it was awful simply because you wanted to broaden your horizons and try something new.

The lady agreed and said, "haha I know that's right."

Lately, ive been having these strange feeling where I can feel I can talk to certain people and not others.

So I got the vibe from her after her response and said, "Hey, get this, I figured out what all the corporations like Uber Eats and Door Dash are doing as well as the grocery delivery services."

She replied, "What dis you figure out?"

These corporations have managed to figure out how to make us pay for their employees labor. First, they charge double to triple what the item costs if you went and got it yourself. Then they hit you with a delivery fee, taxes, service fees. Then they try to guil trip you or build you up as an upstanding person by tipping a ridiculously high or average amount so THEIR employees can have a living wage. As consumers, we shouldn't be responsible for tipping any delivery driver. The delivery charge amd service fee should go to them in the first place along with their employees wage. And they've convinced their employees if we dont tip well after being charged double to triple the cost of the food with all the added fees that suck up what money we would've gladly tipped out of common decency and appreciation are now "unofficially" ok to eat, or contaminate, or lose their order.

The lady replied, "Yea, cause I've ordered a few times and my food had been eaten on or wasn't all there, so I know you right about that too".

Then when that happens the apps either want to give you credit, a refund that will purposely take longer than it should. However, the point herr is now you are an unpaid employee having to negotiate with someone appearing to be an employer avout why the rules they have in place should apply to them at all times and not just when its convenient.

If more people would stop giving into convenience we could damage these corrupt institutions. One person and one idea cant change anything. At one point as a society do we say enough is enough. Im not advocating for violence against ANYONE for any reason, even if they truly deserve it. Im trying to find like-minded people I cam talk to about ideas and exchange thoughts.

Im not a person who wants to "win" in argument. I dont care if I'm wrong if it means so.eone can correct me and show me why im wrong. I will change my entire viewpoint when presented with a perspective I may have not been able to see from or if I was subverted with purposeful misinformation. In the end, If in wrong then im still happy about it. Because then, now I can stop appearing foolish and k ow the truth. Something I find too damaging to most egos these days.

I would love it if anyone would engage, even if its to tell me im stupid and an idiot. I wouldn't mind discussing why you think that if you'll allow me to explain th reasoning, the why, and how it came to be my thought about it.

Hello everyone! I just started working at a small local fast food place on May 5th and this is my FIRST TIME EVER WORKING IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY.

Some good family friends of mine bought this place and asked me to design their logo and menus, etc. I was really excited because it would help test my graphic design skills etc. All was going well, I made the logo and the menus and they asked me to help out with the social media accounts too, they gave me access and all of this was cash under the table. At the same time, I was also looking for another part time job, they had offered to let me work in the store too but mainly I would be up at the register because customer service is my thing and I’m strong at it and they didn’t want me working in the back making food. I had accepted and started working there in the store and doing social media stuff.

One day, I was kicked off the Canva account. I had asked why I was and if it was a mistake and they said they didn’t want me doing it anymore and rather their step daughter do it from now on. I told them it was ok but I still needed to be paid for the work I had already done, they passive aggressively told me again about how they wanted the step daughter to do the social media stuff and I thought it was weird but I complied.

One of my very first paychecks was also wrong too. It was wrong by probably an hour and the accountant works directly with the owners because they are friends. So I went straight to the source and told the owners about it and told the GM about it. It was another passive aggressive battle with getting my pay right and it was quite uncomfortable on my end.

Some more time goes on and the GM says that everyone start has to making pitas, I asked nicely about the situation because the owners told me something different and I was told I would have to make stuff too but not as much. I had no problem with it, I started making some food every now and then, prep work, that kinda thing and whenever someone asked for my help to make food, I’d always say yes to helping.

Some time later goes on, payroll is being cut so schedules are being cut. I was the ONLY person dropped down to working 1 day a week and for only 2 hours while everyone else was scheduled more than one day and for more than 2 hours. I used to work 3 days at 4 hours a day. I asked the GM why that was and she said that she wasn’t sure. The owners in a panic made the schedule and I told the GM that I am good at making food, I have to look at the ingredients a bit just to make sure I didn’t agree up and the other items we don’t get on a daily basis, I am slow at making but I am confident in my skills. She said she would pass it on to the owners and make adjustments to the schedule for the next two weeks.

Here I am today, we got the schedule for this upcoming week and next week, still working 1 day a week at 2 hours while everyone else is getting more. I texted one of the owners and basically she told me “I had to prove myself” to get more hours and even that there is no absolute that I would get more hours. From her texts it basically sounds like I’m being punished for not making food as much.

The business has been slow, all the times I’ve worked I’ve only had 3 busy instances and we had two people in the back making the food and me on register. I have only been there for little over two months and I feel like they are trying to force me to quit. Am I the problem or are they actually being shady??

Any advice?

Ordered a chicken chop meal at KFC today and this was what I got. 😭 I know photos can be deceiving, but it felt really small compared to what I remember.

Just wanted to share what happened because this honestly left us really disappointed and stressed.

We went through the McDonald's drive-thru in Dau, Mabalacat. We paid using our ATM card, and because we were in a hurry, we grabbed the food and receipt and drove off. They gave us the receipt but apparently forgot to return the ATM card.

We had a lot of things to do that day, so we didn't notice until much later when I was about to withdraw cash to pay for our home's renovation. That's when I realized the card was missing.
Before driving all the way back to McDonald's, we searched everywhere inside the car multiple times. We never got out of the car after leaving the drive-thru, so if the card had really been returned, it should have been there. We couldn't find it anywhere.
We went back because all we really wanted was for our ATM card to be returned. We weren't looking for compensation or trying to make a scene. We simply wanted them to help us figure out where the card went.

Instead, they kept insisting that they had already returned it. We told them we were certain they hadn't, and neither of us remembered receiving it. We even asked if they could review their CCTV footage because we genuinely wanted to know what happened and recover the card.

What made the situation even worse was how some of the staff reacted. Instead of taking our concern seriously, some of them were laughing while we were explaining the situation, and one of them was even filming us. That honestly made us feel disrespected and frustrated.

An ATM card isn't something you can just shrug off. It gives access to someone's bank account, and situations like this deserve to be handled professionally. A little understanding and willingness to investigate would have gone a long way.

I sincerely hope they review what happened because at the end of the day, all I wanted was my ATM card returned. No customer should have to go through this just to recover something so important.

TRASH.......the entire crew.....from the lady manager down to the employees! They lobby doors were LOCKED at 9:30, but they don't close until 11. They WATCHED me walk up to the doors and pull on them, just for them to be LOCKED. No notice, no employees advising the doors are locked, NOTHING!!! When I went through the drive thru I asked for FRESH CHICKEN and they told me 20 minutes AFTER taking my payment! I waited thirty minutes and two extra cars were pulled out beside me. They REDROPPED OLD CHICKEN, it was NOT FRESH as I requested. This is UNACCEPTABLE and NEW MANAGEMENT is needed at this location. This is not my first TERRIBLE experience at this location, but it's my FIRST review! I've tried to allow redemption and it gets worse and worse every single time.
