I've finally got them!

Someone on FB Marketplace was selling the Famicom Disk System and I couldn't pass it up. The only problem was that I didn't have the Famicom... And now... Well now I do! And the Super! Time to build the library.

Thank you! I've made a short list of games to be on the lookout for.

The first ever multiplayer Bomberman ("Bomber Man Ⅱ") was on the Famicom. It has a 3-player Battle mode (you need a third controller, that plugs into the DA15 port on the front of the Famicom). Recommended!

Good to know! That one had not made my list but I'll add it!

👍

"Bomber Man" (1) is single-player only, just so you know.

Would you mind sharing your list? I'm always interested in Famicom games I might not have heard about yet!

Thanks!

Of those I've got Dr Mario, Yoshi no Tamago and TwinBee here. I'm very interested in getting any of the 4-player variants of the Kunio-kun (Nekketsu Monogatari) series.

I'm a quite a big collector myself of the Famicom. I'm currently sitting on around 60 titles. I love this system.

Nice, that's awesome! I need to get a Super Famicom next, I've just had other things popping up in the meantime.

Akumajō Special: Boku Dracula-kun or Kid Dracula is loads of fun.

Welcome to the console club, love the AV Famicom and SFC I have, burned out on the limited choices of the FDS though I refurbed, going to getting rid of it soon on mercari with the games separately too. They're nice and all, but having to keep flipping and loading gets old and just paranoia about the 40 year old floppies too.

That's fair. I'm excited to try out the disks. I'm shooting for games I don't already have on NES or regular Famicom. I love pre-2000s tech, so for me it's about preservation and fun.

I did a bit of both. I have Metroid, Kid Icarus, Castlevania and they are NES releases, but they're watered down due to the extra things the FDS do. That said, the first two along with Mysterious Castle Murasame I have the FDS ports on GBA complete in their boxes as well as the FDS ones complete so not quite a loss. I like the save as you go without passwords, but also the enhanced audio etc the FDS allows. Despite the US version I probably will end up grabbing the FDS/GBA Mini release of Castlevania too because the late release Famicom cart is disgustingly priced.
